One night buisness stop over. All comments are relative to proce paid... it is a very affordable stopover on the A1 not far from Peterborough - although access is a little bit tiresome if approaching from the north as you have to pass the hotel and then return on the north bound carriageway. In my opinion, attempting a u-turn as indicated by sat-nav is foolish and outright dangerous so continue to the next proper junction and survive!
The hotel is a pub with rooms in converted buildings around the courtyard. Being on the side of the A1 some noise is inevitable so if that will be an issue ring ahead and see if a ground floor room behind the pub is available as they will be the quietest, although i doubt even they are totally quiet. Room 20, upstairs and away from the road had some noise but wasnt intolerably. The bathroom is functional but tired. I'm never a fan of shower curtain over bath - all was clean but they have a habit of grabbing, dont they!
Dinner... classic english pub menu and all looked fine and the pie was filling. Restaurant had a mix of families, businessmen (yes, they were all men) and friends dining.
Breakfast... cooked to order. Cereal and tradiotanl english options available.
Overall, perfectly good in all aspects for the price paid. If in area again i would consider stopping again.
