Angkor Privilege Resort & Spa

Siem Reap|1.36km from Angkor Link Ads Web
A wonderful boutique resort located an easy 10 minute tuk tuk ride from the centre of Siem Reap. Our suite was extra spacious comprising of comfortable sitting / sleeping areas separated by a slated timber screen. The wardrobe and large bathroom were at the back of the room with again good separation. Lovely decor and being a new resort in perfect condition throughout. The king size bed was so comfy and we much appreciated the kettle, tea & coffee and the water which was replenished daily. Our balcony was spacious and overlooked the gorgeous gardens and pool, as did most suites (request a suite with best possible pool view when booking). The pool was fabulous and larger than expected- beautifully maintained and so refreshing to take a dip in the searing heat. Plenty of pool lounges and I imagine a short supply of lounges would be a rarity even during periods of high occupancy. The tropical gardens were lush and so pretty and there was such a lovely ambiance and sense of calm throughout the resort. Breakfast was al a carte and dining by the pool each morning was so pleasurable and we always looked forward to our morning cappuccino made with love by the gorgeous Saphor (??). Our rate included a Khmer lunch or dinner which we opted to take as a lunch on our final day before heading to the airport. Unfortunately we were time poor and had to totally rush through the meal (thank you Saphor and chefs for making this happen) which was truly delicious and a dining by the pool was a lovely way to end a wonderful 5 night stay at Angkor Privilege. Our rate included a 60 minute massage for 2 and my partner proclaimed his as the best ever. I’ve experienced many a massage in Asia and this one didn’t disappoint although candles, an oil burner, spa music would further enhance the experience. I chose this property on the basis it was around 10 minutes from the city centre and not once regretted this decision. We did 3 days of tours with our chosen operators including pick up and drop off from the resort. We did a 2 day temple tour and were last to be picked up and first to be dropped off which was a bonus. From 5pm Angkor Privilege provides a comp tuk tuk ride to the city centre for guests and as tourist numbers were down our driver was always happy to hang around and take us back to the resort a couple of hours later costing us U$4.00 a pop. And finally to the beautiful team at Angkor Privilege. So friendly and accommodating and such an asset to this wonderful property. Thank you to Saphor, Mary and the rest of the amazing team for your warm hospitality. We wish you nothing but the best in this very difficult time and hope the resort along with all members of the team will be back up and running sooner rather than later. Thinking of you and your lovely country and people. Julie & Steve

You're not for anyone, this is a fact. There's a lot of poverty, land roads, smells, powder, waste and uncommon situations for those traveling to non-developed countries. However, Siem Reap has something I loved: very nice and smileful people, and in this hotel I found the most spontaneous and sincere smile I've ever seen in my life and he belongs to the official called Ratana. A simple person who sweats harmonia, calm and above all comfort. Ratana is always ready to help and never without a sincere smile! Do you want more bacon at breakfast? ask Ratana! Do you want to call that truck driver you like? Ask Ratana, have you a problem with the room? Call Ratana ... Not even in a five-star hotel in Europe I had such a special care when I had in Amour D'angkor! What proves that not the ”stars” that make a special hotel, but the people who work in it! And then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, About the hotel: The cleaning was very good but I didn't understand why the rooms have a window turned to the corridor. Yes, someone passing through the corridor can see the inside of your room. And this window has no curtain ... very strange, a little strange. I covered the window with a towel. No one called me attention soon, didn't bother me much. The pool was very clean and careful. However, its surroundings had the high grass and deserved some treatment. Breakfast: Buffet only has Chinese food. I didn't like it. But you can ask something western like bacon, eggs, cheese, most of the guests were Chinese, in these cases, very badly educated and breakfast in the middle of them was uncomfortable because they didn't speak, they cried, The poor of the Ratana had to ask them every minute to stop smoking. That is why I learned about tourism in that place, it is dominated by the Chinese, and very soon much is ready to receive them and the four days I was there I have seen up to half a hundred Westerners throughout Siem Reap. Free and high-speed Wi-Fi. Rooms with tea/cafe tools. The garden has a huge plantation of mangaes that you can enjoy. Free transport service from/to the airport. Free transport service from the hotel to the city. You only pay the return to the hotel. It is impossible not to recommend!

Abi was an incredible tour guide! My partner and I were referred to him as a tour guide for our Angkor Way experience by a trusted friend and resident of Siem Reap. We were not disappointed. He picked us up where we were staying and took care of everything! Abi is a knowledgeable guide with an encyclopedic knowledge of Cambodia’s history. He is also genuinely friendly and charming. Seriously, our trip to Angkor Wat would have not been as deep and fun had we not chosen Abi. He is also well known as a rescuer of cats and a helper of Siem Reap’s children. We give him our highest recommendation!

It was a stunning experience to enter and see everything for the first time. The lobby and rooms have wonderful interior design that's both spacious and cozy, and the exterior design with the swimming pool perfectly matches everything else. We were also greeted by friendly and helpful staff who assisted us with every part of our stay. The food was also filling and delicious.

Very capable and kind staff make you feel very comfortable and are ready to help with anything you need. The location is perfect. From my third-floor I had a nice view of the river and the balcony is very large. Wi-Fi is not the strongest but that’s not unusual in Cambodia. The pool is very nice, the hotel is very very clean and I didn’t hear any street noise even though it is so close to the central area. They do a nice job of soundproofing and again, the staff is wonderful. The shower is strong and no shortage of hot water. Comfy bed and pillows as wellI - will visit again. Thanks - Nick
