Castel di Pugna Winery

I booked a two bedroom apartment with additional bathroom as per description on *********** at a winery. This accommodation is not on a winery even if the name says it is. When we arrived just after 5 a lady with very little English took our details then we followed her to the room by time I arrived at the room with my 85 year old mum the lady had shown my family how to use the code to get in the door she never entered the property she just left. on the way down a steepish gravel slope my mum reached out to a wooden fence to steady herself, the fence fell apart leaving rusty nails exposed the lady from reception saw this she didnt offer my mum any assistance or deal with the fence. When I got to the room things seemed very dated furniture covers dirty wooden furniture cracked and chipped. There was a kettle only one tea bag between four and only four disposable cups not what you expect for self catering. No toaster no knives forks or spoons just a couple of wooden stirrers. The kettle did not switch off once boiled which was very dangerous. We had been viewing wedding venues all day and just needed to chill for a while. My mum wanted to lay down so I pulled the bed down for her but to my disgust the bedding was completely stained not just one stain. I phoned the lady she came down after a while and then muttered she would change it. We sat waiting for over an hour the room was freezing needed the woman to show how the heating worked as we tried to turn the heating on but it didnt work. Whilst sitting there under the telly we noticed cockroaches running along the side, then i realised there were bug machines in every socket. That was enough this place was not fit to stay in!! My daughter and her partner had gone to try find something to eat i phoned them and said id had enough my daughters response was you wont eat here anyway full of cockroaches, my reply was so is the room. I went to reception and explained the reasons we couldnt stay the same lady who was took our information and said she would change the bed basically said there was nothing they could do to help you get bugs in the country. She phoned some man who said as we walked into the room we had accepted it and not entitled to any refund. Fantastic customer service !!!! I would never accept any accommodation that had stains on the bed sheets and running alive with bugs even if i am staying in the country !!! This lovely owner claimed city tax for people not staying on his property and the rental for sub standard accommodation i wouldnt let my dog sleep in. What is laughable is this place is a WEDDING VENUE. DO NOT BOOK.
