I had a wonderful time at Sigtunastiftelsen, a place that combines hospitality, culture, and learning in a beautiful setting. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the facilities were modern and well-equipped. The location was perfect for exploring the charming town of Sigtuna and its rich history. But the highlight of my stay was the breakfast buffet, prepared by the talented chef Maricar. She created a feast for the eyes and the palate, with a variety of dishes that catered to different tastes and dietary preferences. The presentation was exquisite, with colorful fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads, and pastries arranged in artistic patterns. The flavors were delicious, with a mix of traditional Swedish and international cuisines. Maricar was also very friendly and attentive, making sure that everyone was satisfied and happy. She deserves a big applause for her amazing work. I highly recommend Sigtunastiftelsen to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and inspiring getaway. It is a place where you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a cozy and elegant hotel, and a vibrant and stimulating cultural center. Thank you, Sigtunastiftelsen, for a memorable experience!

Sigtunastiftelsen is a highly unique place: a gathering point for art, humanities, science, religion and music. Originally from 1915 it is still active. The foundation is financially supported by conference activities - so both the hotel and the restaurant is a vital part of survival. The restaurant provides all guests (conference members and "walk-ins") with an ample set of food and drinks during the day: breakfast, coffee, lunch, coffee, dinner. A small bar is also at hand and open generously. See my separate review of the restaurant under "Sigtunastiftelsens restaurang". Since the whole complex consists of several buildings, finding your way around may be a bit confusing at first. Stairs and corridors seems to go everywhere and nowhere. But this is part of the charm: t's far from a modern "box hotel". Lovely public areas where you can relax and being a "place of worship" there is also a small church/chapel adjoining the bar area (!). There is no luxury, but fine standard and lots and lots of charm and "personality". Rooms are simply furnished in an old days style. Beds quite ok. Bathrooms newly renovated to a high standard - complete with floor heating. No AC and no TV (but a radio is at hand). Wifi works fine throughout the buildings. Only problem I/we encountered was the effect of the ongoing energy crisis: very cold everywhere. Our conference room held 18.5 degrees celsius. Likewise in my room. In my opinion way too cold for long hours of conferencing. Staff is kind and helpful when needed. Being a bit off-road Sigtunastiftelsen provides "peace and calm". But is at the same time easy to reach since it is near the Stockholm airport Arlanda and an hour drive from Stockholm city. Sigtunastiftelsen is very well worth visiting!

Rooms were ok. Fairly small. Very hard bed, but if you like that, ok. Get the ones with Rose garden view with fountain lulling you to sleep. Nice "contemplation" rooms all over the place with comfortable seating. Good service. Good elevator for heavy luggage. Decent location. A 1/3 mile to downtown. Wonderful chapel with various instruments to play
