Lovely island with even lovelier staff! Was a great place to stay. On the other hand, I wouldn’t spend more than 2 nights without hot water, air conditioning and decent WiFi when in the room (wasn’t aware of this when booking however this was a fault on my behalf). However, when in reception it was very strong and was able to charge everything in the hotel to the room and pay on exit which was great and they even helped organise our boat home for $15. Also had a cute lizard friend on our last day

The hotel is far from main areas of Saracen Bay, and the hotel charges per boat ride even tho other hotels that are closer to piers provide the service for free. The hotel itself is decent enough, the only thing that really bothered me was the stained sheets found on arrival, luckily i just stayed for one night. Staff is kind.

We really liked our room But the Location is not Easy to reach so we decided to be Home before sunset 6.30pm just to be safe. You could Walk with a flashlight from your Phone But the pass is rocky and there are Wooden bridges to pass. The room was lovely thow and even if only fab it was enough for the price you pay. Did not have Breakfast included since we booked with trip so can not judge That.

AVOID. Wow. This is my first bad review. I’ve been traveling all over the world since 1996, and I have never had such a bad experience. I was supposed to be picked up from the ferry dock, but because of a storm the previous evening, I should have been sent information on how to arrive at a different dock. Unfortunately, I was never sent that information. With heavy luggage I was told to walk 1.5 hours to the resort. The attitude of the receptionist at Laguna was like, “not my problem”. It was a very tough walk (and I’ve done a lot of backpacking, including a month on the Appalachian Trail) through brambles and climbing resort partitions was required. At one point I needed to cross a small estuary where a bridge was out. Luckily right then, I met two other Laguna guests who showed me a path through the forest to avoid crossing the water. The young man help with one of my bags. I asked them if Laguna was nice at least. They laughed heartily and said a resounding “No”. When I arrived, I showed Laguna all messages, including spam and deleted messages, to show that I had not received any communication from them. I asked what they could do for me. They said that they could only give me 10% off food and activities (though I was told that there were no activities due to the storm) or they could upgrade me to a villa my second night. They said that their only other option was to cancel my prepaid two nights (but I would still need to pay), and I could find somewhere else. I couldn’t believe how damn rude they were. But I had prepaid, the walk back was difficult, and the sun was now setting. I was recovering from food poisoning, and the only thing I could stomach was bread, pasta, and bananas. They made me a plate of pasta with olive oil and attempted charge me 4.50 USD, no 10% discount. I argued, so they charged me 4 USD and the discount. Are you kidding me? The rest of my stay there the receptionist, Alex, and the owner, Indrek, were nothing but rude. The shower water was ice cold. There was no beach at the resort. The kitchen staff made fun of me for having food poisoning. I could go on. I asked about a boat to get back to the ferry after staying my prepaid two nights. I was told to be prepared to walk and that no one would give me assistance. (I’m 5’1” and weigh about 105 pounds.) All this for 49USD/night. Luckily a German man who stays there long term got a boat for me that morning. He told me that if a boat wasn’t available, he would walk me back and help with my bags. Avoid this place at all costs.

excellent service, sometimes a little slow, good breakfast, the perfect facilities to relax, away from everything, the facility could take more advantage of its common spaces and facing the sea, perhaps hammocks, beach chairs, swings that do not require you to always be under roof, the nature around invites peace, if you want to party it is not the place, if you want relaxation, definitely yes.

ATTENTION DONT GO! Do not go to this accommodation because the bed has bed bugs and the mattress has many stains and also traces of bed bug droppings. When we presented this to the manager the day after, he wanted to see proof because he did not believe the video we had made (unfortunately I can only post a screenshot on booking). The manager himself is one of the unfriendliest people I have ever seen. On the day of arrival my girlfriend wanted to have a chat about the horses they have. He just kept looking at his computer screen while she was talking and a few words came out. We wanted to leave as quickly as possible after the first night and actually get our money back since we did not want to stay there another day. We had to pay for the first night, which I was okay with (even with the bugs in bed), but he actually wanted us to pay for the other nights as well. After it was very difficult to cooperate with him, we only had to pay a booking fee of 20%. That was still 6 dollars, incomprehensible how an owner can make a problem for such a small amount of money. So all the bad reviews you read about this stay are true!

I spent four days at Laguna in May. It is the perfect place to relax and disconnect. The resort is surrounded by nature. I stayed in one of the bungalows. The room was clean, modern and had all of the amenities I expected. The restaurant area is wonderful, with very reasonable prices. It is lovely and open so you can watch the sunset over the island of an evening. The hotel offers pool (billiards), board games and boat trips around the island. However, the best thing about Laguna is the staff. Michael the Manager and Neal the bar tender are warm, friendly and work hard to make your stay the best it can possibly be. My friend and I are vegetarian so they gave us some additional off menu options. I would highly recommend a stay at Laguna.

The hotel and the restaurant are quiet and the layout is super nice, moreover the restaurant is one of the best on the island and the prices are very good compared to other establishments! 😍 Everything is done to ensure that the stay goes smoothly. Managers and teams are very nice, efficient, responsive to the slightest request. The rooms are modern, well equipped and very clean! If you are a little bored, the hotel offers different activities such as tennis, pool (billiards), different board games, horse riding (yes yes, there are three magnificent horses), boat trips, visit to the island… 👍 I can only recommend this establishment. In the evening you can enjoy a magnificent sunset and the bar with delicious cocktails‚ there are also pool evenings which are extremely nice and we also loved the pizza evening because it was simply delicious! 🤤 Koh Rong Samloem is an incredible island so if you decide to go there, put down your suitcases or your backpacks at Samloem Laguna Resort without hesitation! 🤗

Booked a twin room for my son and I for 2 nights, paid up front on *********** The morning we were heading to the port to go to the island the hotel messaged me to say they would not check us in because they would not accept the proce on *********** This ruined our vacation and plunged us into a terrible situation of having to find another hotel. I now am out of pocked and need to get a refund some how. I have never been treated this way before by a hotel.

Would not recommend this hotel for a number of reasons. 1. The owner agreed to give us a lift to Eden pier but was very relaxed about what time we left to catch the boat..and appeared at the very last minute. We were feeling anxious about making it on time but we were reassured several times that we would get there on time. We had to wait about 45 minutes for him to appear and for us to sort the bill out. This took a while and we asked for a receipt and he said we could take a photo of the screen...not very professional... In the end, he did print the receipts out which we weren't able to thoroughly check due to the rush to make the boat. Due to the managers poor time keeping and laid back attitude, we missed the big boat and received no apology, just a 'good luck'. If he had been on time and arrived earlier so that we could sort the bill out, we would have made the boat. We felt that this was very inconsiderate as his job should be to prioritise guests rather than his own needs.. the only good thing was that he helped us on and off the boat and with our big bags 2. We were overcharged for food/drink which we did not consume and were charged for coffee which the manager informed us was free on arrival. 3. Mosquito net was broken in the room. 4. Location - The hotel is situated quite far out from other hotels and hostels and restaurants (30 minute walk). The walk back to the hotel in the evening is quite scary in the dark and unpleasant with insects and you are warned about monkeys...luckily we didn't encounter any. Private beach is also nothing special.. stay in the main hub near onederz Despite all this, we thought very highly of the male waiter from Sri Lanka who was extremely friendly, lovely and helpful.
Response from Property: (Mother and Daughter) Oh Dear, seems we dropped the ball, this is Michael the new general manager, let me apologize to you both, and thank you so much for bringing to our attention all your issues and problems you encountered during your stay, this information is very useful for our resort success, and our future guest. Has you know I spoke with you both everyday and we laugh and joked about many things. you are right its our job to make your stay a memorial, enjoyable and to beat your expectations, with what you wrote on this platform i can see we failed our mission, now that gives me a sad and heavy heart. thank you for mentioning our food and beverage manager its appreciated. I hope you found other things also that was enjoyable on your stay with us, we would love to see you again in the future, if you give us another chance, we will make sure nothing will happen twice, and i would love to hear from you, about your experience with being over charged for your food and drink, please contact me on our website and email, samloemlagunaresort@gmail.com, I would be happy to discuss this issue and come to a amical a agreement together, we can only do whats is in our control, and what we do know and can't do much about, the nature and the animals existing side by side with our resort, the long walk to the noisy side of the Island and walking back in the dark, other peoples beaches, ( maybe not so private beaches ) or our location, our warning about monkey's is real, and done because we are in the jungle with beautiful green nature, animals and we care about the safety of guest always, hence the factor, our dogs KENZO and TOMMY are here to stop the monkey's coming on the resort for your protection. we are away from the main hub area for the reason of peace quiet and relaxation which we do deliver for sure. thank you again for your input and we hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. (sincerely yours Michael The GM )

Liked · the staff was super friendly and made me feel so welcomed. The facilities were very clean and everything was perfect to have a few chill days on the island. The food was also very reasonable priced, especially compared to other restaurants on the island and the food was also very good! They also provide tours which also are very reasonably priced! Disliked · its a bit far from the ‚main‘ beach. but you dont really need to go ther anyways, the hotel has everything you need.
Response from Property: Hi Lina it's Michael thank you for the nice review, I hope you enjoying the rest of your travels, you are always welcome at the Laguna, and the Laguna family wish you all the best, it was a true pleasure meeting you.
