The Initial Sama Serviced Residences

We checked into Initial Sama Hotel yesterday, and it was a disaster from start to finish. Our first room was right by the main road — completely lacking soundproofing — and we were kept awake all night by constant traffic noise. When we asked to change rooms, the hotel gave us a much smaller one (not the same type as promised). To make things worse, the new room had a strong, toxic chemical smell, identical to the insecticide I’ve used at home. After just 30 minutes inside, we both felt dizzy and unwell, so we requested another change. We thought the third room would be fine, but soon after lying down we saw a winged insect crawling on the bed, and then another bug on my partner. When we moved the bed, we were horrified to find a colony of insects along the side and underneath. It was absolutely disgusting. We immediately asked to check out, but the front desk said they couldn’t help. One staff member even argued, “You chose the room yourself” — as if we would ever choose to stay in a bug-infested room! When we called the manager (who claimed to be “off duty”), they refused to refund us, insisting that since it’s a “serviced apartment” with a six-night minimum stay, nothing could be done. I have a dust mite allergy, and after staying there I developed red rashes and severe itching, clearly from the unsanitary conditions.
