BEAT. 1932 Hostel @ Chinatown

Amazing hostel with great facilities, comfy bed, strong shower, great breakfast, amazing cafe and everything you need. I absolutely loved it Book it as tou will not regret it. Perfectly between. Chinatown and Maxwell metro stations

I booked a queen bed capsule, and absolutely loved it. The space in the bed area was great, everything was super clean, and each bed has a combination lock locker that goes with it. There isn’t much of a common room space because the downstairs of hostel is actually Fernweh cafe which does do amazing food. The showers are a little busy at times, but great all the same. You can use the washing machine and dryer for 10$S, and the people that work here are all very polite. Would recommend and would stay there again. Also the location is fantastic, and I didn’t get any pictures of the capsule or the bedroom, but they look exactly as they do on the booking page.

I had a great stay at Beat.1932 Hostel @ Chinatown. The hostel is clean, cozy, and well maintained, with a nice modern design while still keeping its heritage charm. The location is excellent, right in Chinatown and very convenient to get around. There are plenty of food options, cafés, and public transport nearby. The rooms and common areas were clean and comfortable, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable for a hostel. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, making it easy to rest after a long day. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made our stay even more pleasant. Overall, it was great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located hostel.

Where to start? Maybe with the good. Good location, friendly staff. That's where the good ends. Yes, it's all new and looks clean, but this place will be a total disaster once guests have lived there for a few months. Already now many broken things, from flushes, to doorknobs, to faucets. etc. Yes it's a pod style hostel, yes it's 'cheap' for Singapore prices. But it's probably the worst thought out hostel I've ever been in. Tiny showers, no hangers, shelves. Even the larger toilet/showers. No hook to hang the towel, no shelf to put your things. Everything gets flooded. The toilet paper dispenser is constantly wet, your basically wasting 10-20 sheets of paper to get to the dry part because the architect or interior designer had the genius idea of placing it there. I mean literally, you build things for humans. This place was built in a computer. No one ever thought about - does this work, is it practical? There's lockers for your luggage. Problem is, not even an aircraft certified carry on piece will fit inside. Everyone is placing their luggage around the room. It's insane - for a place putting so much emphasis on design it's a complete failure. My recommendation: go somewhere else. This will only get worse as wear and tear continues.
