Hotel 81 Kovan

This hotel is perfect for families on a budget. It's conveniently located near a subway station, making it easy to get around. There are plenty of food options near the subway, including Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Old Chang Kee, as well as a supermarket, all within a 10-minute walk. It's a good value for the price. There are also bus stops nearby, some just a minute's walk away, which is great for transportation. Given Singapore's prices, this place is quite reasonable. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs and what I believe is the hotel's restaurant. As a chain hotel, the facilities are decent and acceptable. The service is also good, and they can communicate in Chinese. Oh, and you don't need to worry about adapters; standard domestic plugs work fine.

The bathroom has no separate wet and dry areas and is surprisingly small, with the shower head almost directly above the toilet. Furthermore, the cleanliness was quite questionable (small cockroaches, dusty kettle). The two beds were also made differently; one had a blanket underneath, while the other didn't, only a fitted sheet.
