Reviews of The Serangoon House, Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

A charming beautiful little hotel strategicly located. Ours come with delicious breakfast. Staffs are friendly and very accomodating. Amenities only set for 2, they send to the room very quickly when I asked for towel & water for 3 pax & a shaver. However I couldn’t find shower cap, yet to call & ask for it to be sent, is too bothersome. Room is very small & no wardrobe, only hangers on the wall. The bed is hardwood carved classic style, it’s a queen size bunkbed to accomodate 4, only the people sleeping upper deck needs to climb a wooden detachable monkey ladder, watch your head though, we bumped our head on the carving that hang a bit too low.

Love my staycation here! Upon reaching, was greeted my friendly receptionist Kamala, and greeted warmly by the friendly staffs Marzuki and Hamzah. Upon asking, I didnt know all the beds here is bunked, and it could be a problem for my mum. However, Kamala is kind enough to explain and ask her staff to bring my to check out the room that I booked for and another room that offer Queen sized bed. Kamala also kindly help to upgrade my room to accomodate for my mum. Breakfast included too, and the staffs down there is vert friendly too :) Location is also extremely accesible. Walking distance (right infront of Mustafa Centre), opposite is City Square Mall, At left side of hotel is Farrer MRT, and area is full of Halal food options! Overall, a good staycation experience.

My stay at The Serangoon House was quite a pleasant one. The location was lovely. Positives: the location was great, the hotel is situated in Little India. A few minute walk to City Square Mall, Farrer Park MRT and Mustafa Shopping Centre. The television had lots of channels, and the lounge food was quite yummy but small portions. The breakfast food was delicious too. The toilet in the B1 lounge was really pretty. The room slippers were good quality ones. Granted early check in and late check out. Special thanks to Kamala for her good service to upgrade us. Coffee in the room was good! Negatives: the bunk bed ladder was quite shaky, and the the television could not be seen from the top bunk. The toilet flush was quite weak, you need to flush multiple times. During peak hours, the lounge can be quite packed for breakfast, so service might be quite slow. Did not provide shower head, cotton buds. Not enough towels for room for 4. Bonvoy app not able to use.

The best part of this hotel is it's ideal location.

Good location and hotel. Mall is nearby and easy to access by walking.

The receptionist were very nice. The room is fancy as you can see the photo. The room was clean.

It was an interesting experience for my friends whom I booked for and they might choose to stay there in the future

Very beautiful room

I don't know why this hotel is owned by Marriott... I was also shocked... You can refer to Home Inn in China... (Sorry, it's not as good as Home Inn) Don't be fooled by the fancy pictures, the check-in experience is really bad. First of all, the location is in Little India, you know the environment... similar to the urban village in China. Be sure to avoid it!! And there are two mirrors facing the bed, I dare not sleep without roommates... The Indian service staff don't solve any problems, the only warm one is the Chinese guy at the front desk... If it weren't for him, I would give the lowest score to everyone.

The location was great, the room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

The disadvantages are as follows: 1. The hotel will deduct money repeatedly!!! 2. Dishes will be missed when ordering 3. It is not clear whether the guest has reserved the executive lounge or not. 4. If there is a gap in the shower door, water will escape and the entire bathroom will become wet. 5. The lights are too dark at night (the lights are about to break down) 6. The socket is broken 7. No slippers in the room 8. There is dried blood inside the quilt The payment was completed using Trip.com APP on 2024/05/04, and a 2-person room was booked for a 2-day stay from 8/12-8/14. When I checked in at 8/12, the front desk staff told me that I needed to apply for a credit card as a deposit, and that the credit card would be debited only when additional charges were required. On 8/19, I discovered that my credit card had been stolen by the hotel. Today, on 8/23, I am still waiting for the bank and APP platform to handle the charge issue!
