Holiday Inn Express Singen
4.1/543 Reviews
Holiday Inn definitely didn't hold up to it's name in this hotel. It is hard to compliment even the basic services of a hotel in this particular property. Front office service was slow even on non peak dates and hours, there was only one staff handling the front despite the queue or waiting guests while the manager hid in her office all the time. Front office staff were mostly uninterested in their job. The room itself was 'so-so', the room didn't come with any bottled water, no safe, wardrobe, no room clock or fridge. So if you're thinking of buying cold food to store, don't bother. Housekeeping didn't replace the soaps either, even upon check-in, the soap in the shower was already finishing, nor did they replace with more during the next day housekeeping. Teabags and coffee were also not replaced the next day. The toilet bowl smelled of urine when we checked-in and continued to smell that way even when we flushed several times to try to rid of the smell. Unfortunately we left a smartphone under the covers upon check out. When we realized it, we called front office to let them know we left our phone behind and they said they'll contact housekeeping and get back to us. No only did they NOT get back to us, we called them again ourselves and although less than 24 hours our phone was apparently not found. Breakfast buffet was unexpectedly small and lack of selection. Sure, you get the basic coffee, tea, fruit juices. But warm foods only consisted of half boiled eggs in a basket and pancakes. The hotel has an open air parking, but it is not complimentary to hotel guests. It would cost you 7€ a day to park there. The stay experience was really neutral, but most definitely not in standard with any Holiday Inns we've experienced in and out of Germany. Although I HAVE to compliment breakfast staff (or the one woman who was seen placing breakfast and cleaning tables) she was actually very friendly and greeted everyone even when most never seemed to reply her :(
