The Lake Suite Ko No Sumika

This hotel is almost perfect, no wonder it's so highly recommended on Xiaohongshu. I initially couldn't book it, but then rooms suddenly became available two weeks before my trip, so I quickly snatched one up. I honestly can't find any faults. Some online reviews mentioned the food wasn't good, but that's completely untrue. Both the buffet and set meals were incredibly fresh and delicious, and you don't find fugu (pufferfish) and crab legs everywhere. The hot spring was absolutely delightful with expansive views, and it was also very convenient and clean. If I had to nitpick, perhaps the walk from the annex to the main building for meals was a bit long, and the bathroom fan was a little noisy, but those are minor details.

Booked this last minute about a week in advance. The rooftop hot spring has amazing views, and the room itself was big and clean with comfortable bedding and a fantastic lake view. The food was just okay. Next time, I'd definitely stay for two nights to fully enjoy it.

The location is great, and the onsen (hot spring) is very nice and beautiful. Breakfast and dinner were acceptable. The price is reasonable. I recommend it.

Nine years ago, my mom and I enjoyed a night at a hot spring ryokan in Izu; it was pricey but absolutely excellent. This time, I brought my parents to Lake Toya for an overnight stay. The views were breathtaking, and both breakfast and dinner featured lavish buffets. They also offer complimentary shuttle services to and from Sapporo. For the price, it offered exceptional value, considering all the facilities, service, and ambiance. Oh, and get this, there was even a fireworks display held despite the heavy rain!

The rooms were spotless, and the buffet breakfast was absolutely fantastic, offering an incredible variety of delicious options.

The room offered fantastic views. The restaurant was also very well-designed, ensuring there were no long queues, even during peak times. Highly recommend!

It's a new hotel with excellent room facilities. Unfortunately, the food quality is quite poor and doesn't justify the price. The buffet selection, in particular, is very limited. We even had to go to the hotel next door for meals, which was incredibly inconvenient.

Highly recommend visiting in winter to see the snow. Make sure to book your room well in advance!
