Reviews of Ingenia Holidays Soldiers Point

It has been an amazing stay for us this past week. So many things we can do onsite, the indoor pool, the bowling alley, the playground, the indoor kiddie play area and more. The room was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, close to a lot of beaches. Kids loved it. It’s just so perfect. Will definitely go back 😊😊

I booked with Ingenia soldiers point a while back. Due to a family emergency I had to cancel, to which I gave a months notice. Ingenia refused a full refund so I settled for park credit. When I went to rebook, the price of the stay was going to be $736. The original stay was going to be $318 at the same park. Ingenia was also forcing me to take an extra day as it was just before a public holiday (not ON the public holiday) which of course defeats the purpose of going away for a long weekend as you end up having to take an extra day off work anyway, but this is somehow justified by the fact that many parks have adopted this unaustralian greedy policy. Considering the big4 6 minutes away was charging $450 for the same length of stay, I could not justify it. Ingenia has now charged me a $50 booking fee for absolutely nothing. I have spent $1000s with Big4 as a perks member so I contacted Big4 head office. They did not help at all as it was “out of their hands”. I understand that I am only one customer and my contribution will make zero difference, so saying I will not stay with Ingenia or Big4 is completely worthless. If that is the message you’re trying to send to your customers, well done, you have achieved it.

Lovely park overall except I felt incredibly unsafe using the unisex amenities block. As a female I didn't feel safe going in there day or night knowing that men could be in there too. It's especially unsettling at night time. There have been so many comments in the reviews about this. Please fix it. For families, there is a family/parents room so there is no need to keep it unisex.

I hate writing a bad review but one was completed and sent to Ingenia and I don’t think they even bothered to read it. If they did they were being seriously sarcastic with their standard reply. Poor loyalty from them. We always rebook, same site, if we’ve had an enjoyable time. This time it wasn’t honoured. Sarcastic comments made as we took the Seniors deal and were not happy with being moved. Really spoilt the holiday, it’s a nice park for kids but very noisy. Grounds and activities are lovely. We won’t be back. To the manager…please take comments seriously. This might be of no concern to you but it is to us.

The park itself has lots to offer children and that is what attracted us to go there but the cabin was horrible. We paid $3000 to stay 4 nights over the Easter break to stay in the worst cabin ever. That's $750 a night! We feel so ripped off. We stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin which had the smallest bathroom ever, most ensuites are larger then the one we got and it had no bath for the kids. The ensuites for the campers is TWICE the size of the bathroom we got... for 6 people! The main area had A/C right under the dining table and no fans and even though it was a cool Autumn, the cabin was a hot box. The A/C didn't travel down to the bedrooms which were only fitted with small fans on the walls, not ceiling fans and those rooms got HOT at night, there was no air flow even with windows open 24/7. The Internet didn't work well in the cabin and wasn't compatible to work on the TV so we couldn't connect Netflix or any other TV apps. We were supplied 2 rolls of toilet paper, no sugar and 5 glasses for 6 people. Horrible metal chairs for the dining table. Our porch seemed to be the only one without a BBQ which would have come in handy as the oven was horrible. it took 2hrs to cook anything on it, whether it be the stove or oven as it seemed to keep shutting off. It looks like most of the cabins have been updated but we were unlucky enough to get one of the old, run down ones that hasn't been, which is fine, but charge accordingly. the saying ' you get what you paid for' well... we paid a lot and didn't get much! ---Avoid the Caranday Cabin---

What a fantastic park! We had a wonderful time. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any queries we had. We stayed in a cabin, the cabin was lovely and clean, had all the cooking utensils and full size fridge. Comfy beds. Cabin had a bath which was handy for our toddler. The park has a indoor and outdoor pool. We only used the indoor pool as it was still a bit cold & raining and the indoor pool was great we went early in the morning and had it to ourselves. The park has great play areas for kids. A indoor soft play style for toddlers, jumping pillow and outdoor play equipment. We saw there is a bowling alley too we didn't get a chance to try it. Hopefully next time we visit. Great location next to a bowling club and the beach across the road. We had a fun time, looking forward to visiting again soon.

One of the best parks we've stayed at, we will definitely come back! Plenty to do for the kids and lovely staff at reception. We stayed in an older/smaller cabin, but the virtual walk through was so helpful in helping us to pick something that we wanted and we knew exactly what we were getting, which is always helpful with kids. We left before the weekend so kids were a little upset about not getting to go bowling, but there was plenty of other options to keep them going indoors and out. You can also walk directly through to the Bowlo next door. Loved our stay :)

Stayed in cabin facing the grassed area. Cabin older style. No oven or washing machine. Second bedroom with 4 bunks was very small, we squeezed 3 young kids in there. Very basic cooking equipment, old brown rusty toaster, horrible brown exhaust fan. Pros - close to bowling club next door with great kids playground, close to restaurants of Bannisters, Cheeky Dog pub was great and excellent cocktails! Facilities are old and worn, indoor pool was good however outdoor pool freezing, not heated. Best bit of park was kids activities during school holidays, dance class and karaoke were great.

Nice little caravan park, with good sized campsites and lots of stuff to do for the kids, including an indoor and outdoor pool, a park, a games room, jumping pillow, bike 'jungle' track, and a big grass area for sports. There is a bowling club next door which has decent food, and a restaurant across the Rd. I think the downfall is that it is a bit of a drive into Nelson Bay, which is where all the decent beaches are. And the standard of the cabins. There appeared to be some newer cabins but we stayed in an older one which was quite outdated, not alot of cooking equipment, poor hot water system, and none of the doors closed properly. Overall a pretty nice little caravan park, but I think for me I will be staying a little closer to the good beaches and more food options next time!

The Ingenia Holidays Soldiers Point has everything that parents and kids need to keep themselves entertained. Lots of options go kids to play, space to run, ride a bike or scooter. The common areas was very clean and all the amenities were well maintained. An amazing place to stay. I truly recommend it.

Brought the extended family this time. So much for the kids to do in the park. Right next door to Soldiers Point Bowling club which has delicious food and play area for kids. Great little beach across the road too thats perfect for the kids

Would definitely recommend and will be staying again. Staff were absolutely amazing as we were on our honeymoon, they advised us of beautiful venues around the area. We really can't wait to bring our family here

We had the best stay at Ingenia holiday park in Soldiers Point. The staff were so lovely and our kiddies enjoyed all the activities that were on offer. The cabins were perfect, they had everything we needed. The beds were especially comfortable and the shower was amazing, we will definitely be back.

Excellent facilities for kids and families so much to do. And so great that the park caters to younger children too. Our powered site was great felt very private and nice and large lots of space. Highly recommended
