The Europa Palace was terrific! Disregard any reviews from several years back…the hotel was recently renovated. Our room we beautiful, with the Italian tile, and a great view of Vesuvius and the Marina Grande below the cliff which is below the hotel terrace. Top notch bar; our breakfasts were in the restaurant, a grand long room with windows overlooking the Bay of Naples. The staff was wonderful. Friendly, helpful, conversant. A short walk to the Piazza Tasso and within walking distance of 10-15 minutes to the full range of restaurants. They also have a connection to O Parruchiano restaurant, which can be difficult to reserve, but they can do it…just ask the concierge even before you arrive…email. Also a 10-15 minute walk to the ascenseur which for 2 EU round trip each takes you up and down to the Marina Grande rather than the arduous walk or the 20 EU cab ride each way. (The ascenseur is located at the Piazza Francesco Saverio). Excellent restaurants nearby are O Parruchiano, Tasso (way more than a pizzeria), Sugo Sorrento, Nalu, Circolo dei ForestierLorelei and Frank’s Pizza. By staying here, you avoid a lot of cab fees, like to and from the Hilton (a very long up and down walk) where a conference we were attending was going on…cabs from Piazza Tasso to and from the Hilton are 25 EU during the day and 35 EU a night (each way). So unless you want so spend a lot on cabs getting around and getting to the ferries departing to Capri, Positano, Amalfi & Ischia from the Marina Grande, this a a great place to stay and avoid all that! Would definitely stay here if going to Sorrento!

We stayed at the Europa Palace in Sorrento for eight nights, and our experience there was one of the best of our trip. The hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. Our room was kept immaculately clean. The view from the seaside of the hotel was the best in Sorrento. We enjoyed having drinks on the terrace. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide selection of dishes that I looked forward to every morning. We highly recommend Europa Palace and hope to return for another visit sometime.

We had an unforgettable 21-night stay at the Grand Hotel Europa Palace. The location is perfect with stunning views, but it was the amazing staff, Giancarlo, Maria, Valentina, Rebecca, Bart, Raphaele, Massimo, and Sergio, that made it truly special. Exceptional service in a beautiful setting, we can’t wait to return!

I give the hotel a 3* rating. I understand the hotel has completely new management and staff, and the hotel is undergoing a complete renovation; two floors have already been renovated. The staff definitely gets a 5* rating from me; they are service-oriented, hospitable, and have an open attitude. However, there's room for improvement with the pier staff, who aren't exactly guest-focused yet. We booked a suite, but upon arrival, we discovered that these unrenovated suites are located in the hotel's basement and are only accessible by stairs. This wasn't mentioned when we booked. After we reported this as an issue, we were upgraded to a renovated junior suite. Later, we saw on the website that it now stated that the older suites are only accessible by stairs. The renovated junior suite was definitely worth it: beautiful, fresh colors, satellite TV, internet, Netflix, a comfortable bed, and a small but functional bathroom. Breakfast itself is fine, although the same items are served every day, so it can be a bit monotonous for long-stay guests. The coffee is definitely a point for improvement; it was disappointing. The pier and pool are only accessible by a small, old elevator that can hold a maximum of three people; we understand this is being replaced. Alternatively, you have to walk down an estimated 150 meters of stairs and back. Parking is off-site, but is arranged by the hotel. It was a great experience for us. We were supposed to stay eight nights, but after five, we wanted to leave early, partly because we didn't dare use the elevator to the pier and because several things weren't resolved yet, such as construction work in the hotel. We then discovered that the hotel isn't very flexible regarding changes or cancellations. They have a policy of free cancellations or changes up to 14 days before arrival. Initially, there was no room for a refund, but they did suggest moving to a partner hotel so the rate could be transferred. However, if we refused, there was no refund. After some back-and-forth messaging after our departure, the general manager finally offered a one-night refund. I agreed to this because I would at least get something back, but it cost us €1,000. I accept this loss, but despite the fantastic team, I have decided not to return to the Grand Europa Palaca hotel. I realize that the reservations manager and the team did their best, but the final decision on whether or not to issue a refund rested with the General Manager, and he refused to refund the other two nights. Bit strange, when they sell the room again they have double the rate, it was pretty busy in Sorrento, most hotel were fully booked. Sometimes you have to be flexible to build a relationship with returning guests, and we are not one of them in this hotel.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with breathtaking views of the sea. We were kindly upgraded to ocean view suites upon arrival and the rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were extremely helpful and kind throughout our stay and always available to help (with bags, suitcases etc) as well as being very attentive. Hotel was quiet and the food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. Pool and beach area were relaxing, well kept and offered gorgeous views. The hotel is right next to the centre and easily accessible. Would definitely come here again !

I have put Septembet 24 but it was 2023. Wecwould love to go back to stay here but it is no longer in any travel brochures. We booked through Jet2. Why is it no longer available?? I have looked at various holiday firms ie Jet2 Tui etc but no one will explain!! and there are no dates open . It's very sad as we enjoyed 2 lovely weeks here. The hotel is amazing as was the service, the staff? the views and the location.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I was a touch apprehensive as some older reviews reference outdated elements of the hotel, and there might be a few, but the gorgeous, modern open lobby area, back patio over the water, pool, food service, and deck overlooking the Golfo do Napoli were truly beautiful, clean and unlike any other hotel that I could see in the area. It was a quiet oasis/escape from the busy Sorrento crowds, and is located very centrally (seriously, a safe 2 min walk from the action). Staff was extremely kind and accommodating as well. The room was spacious and clean. The only comment is that the TV is outdated and doesn’t have many channels at all, so we ended up watching movies on a laptop at night. But this wasn’t really an inconvenience on a trip where we were able to hang on the hotel’s clean, open patio drinking spritzes until well past sundown.

Makes no sense this is rated #72. Granted we had a top floor ocean view room. But the location is close enough to walk to the center. Breakfast is fine. The outdoor area and view of the Mediterranean is fantastic. And make sure you take the elevator down to the pool and pier - very interesting.

We had the best experience we could've imagined! Everyone on the staff was terrific and went above and beyond to help us. The location of Grand Hotel Europa Palace was also perfect for the main part of the city, the train station, and the port. Highly Recommend!

Very nice hotel. The staff was adequate. The room was good -- would have appreciated hot water for shower as opposed t lukewarm. The dining facility was very nice-lots of choices for breakfast including lukewarm coffee. For the price we paid per night, it would have been nice to have a shuttle from Sorrento City Center.

We had a wonderful five night stay here. The staff are amazingly kind, helpful and friendly. The pool was large and very nice as well as the deck down by the sea with one of the sides rocky and one side sandy so no water shoes needed. The location to the town center is just a quick five minute walk which made it great for dining, shopping and sightseeing. The breakfasts included and very good in a most beautiful setting and the terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius was a great place to enjoy the views each night. The hotel and rooms are definitely older but we were told they are undergoing a major renovation shortly. I’d stay again either way. We had a great time here and were treated so well!

We are currently in Sorrento staying at a nearby hotel, trying to enjoy the vibe of Sorrento, which is beautiful, serene, quiet town in Italy. This hotel had the music blasting that we can’t even hear ourselves talking. It’s the same type of music and it becomes mind numbing. No other hotels or restaurants in the region have made any noises. We’ve noticed that most places in Sorrento are very respectful of silence, but not this place. This place is wrecking the vibe of all the places in the area.

Such a lovely hotel - the word "grand" certainly does it justice. The public areas have beautiful paintings and objets d'art, and the rooms extremely comfortable. The staff are just fantastic: Vincenzo, Giorgio, Mario, Luigi & Alessia (to name a few!) are so friendly and welcoming.
