Bougainvillea Relais

Sorrento is very beautiful and not too busy in March and we found everyone in the town to be most friendly, and enjoyed many of the local restaurants and bars. Bougainvillea Relais is a small hotel, a short walk from the station and town centre with a continental breakfast brought to your room every morning. Our room was very clean and comfortable and was serviced daily. Our only disappointment was that the view from the balcony of our deluxe room was of a side street and was quite noisy - we found it to be not really the nicest of places to sit outside and eat breakfast. The host, Maria Teresa was very communicative and helpful throughout our stay and very attentive to guests' needs. An important tip for travellers on a budget is that, when there, we realised that many of the suggestions made for booking guided tours were not necessary, for example, the train to Pompeii is accessible by a cheap train journey and you can get an audio guide which costs only 8 euros extra to the entrance fee to the site. Also, much cheaper than private transport or taxi, there is a bus which goes directly from Sorrento train station to Naples Airport for only 10 Euros. One tour which we would highly recommend though was a minibus guided tour of the Amalfi Coast booked through Maria Teresa. Tony, our guide and driver provided a lot of interesting information and this was a very pleasant way to see the coast with a local guide. Overall, we enjoyed a wonderful few days in the Sorrento area for our short Spring break!

Although the hotel was small the service was excellent. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very friendly and welcoming. She gave us information and booked the Amarfi coast trip for us. The hotel was situated near the centre of Sorrento and our private balcony faced south so we had the sun all day. The personal touch was evident and recommend

We stayed for 6 nights and was great location for off season adventures..an exciting time with businesses reopening for new season. Teresa was very helpful in suggesting options of food/drinks and visits. Definitely eat across the street!

We stayed at Bougainvillea Relais for 5 nights in February. This place is honestly amazing. It was a perfect trip from beginning to end. Maria the host was very friendly and welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She is a fantastic host. She also recommended so many things to do around the area. This place is in the perfect location and we will certainly be back. The breakfast on the balcony each morning was a nice little touch. Thank you so much for making our first trip to Sorrento great! We stayed at the Bougainvillea Relais for 3 nights for a short break to Sorrento. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The owner Maria Teresa met us on arrival and was so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble, she even booked a few trips for us at very short notice to Pompei and a tour along the Amalfi coast which was amazing. The trip pick-up point is less than two minutes from the accommodation. You have a set of keys to enter the building so you can come and go as you please. Your neighbours are Italian families so you really feel like one of the locals, which I love. Maria Teresa is contactable at all times should you need help or advice. Breakfast is delivered to the room, warm croissants, fruit, yoghurt, juice and coffee. The rooms are very contemporary and comfortable. Blinds, lights and temperature and all controlled from a digital panel in the room. The shower is lovely and the rooms are spotlessly clean, with a maid service every day. I would not hesitate to stay here again, The accommodation is less than a ten-minute walk to the main square and Sorrento is very easy to get around on foot. We stayed from the 23rd to the 25th of February and although there were quite a few people around, quite a few of the shops and restaurants were not open yet for the season. Positano, Amalfi & Ravello were very quiet with not much open. Even though the weather was not great (it rained a few days) the place is always so magical and stunning.

Besides the fact that this B & B was in the perfect location, was very clean, comfortable and the included breakfast was amazing..Maria, the owner, was the best!! Maria goes above and beyond to make your stay very comfortable and to make you feel at home. We were in a bit of a perdicament re: transportation to next city...Maria saved the day for us by finding a driver last minute. The four of us would not hesitate to stay there again..we are forever grateful to Maria for helping us experience many great times and making lasting memories of a wonderful trip! Enjoyed our five day stay very much. Lovely room with a small balcony looking on to the main road. Delicious breakfast served in your room. Excellent air conditioning. Very good housekeeping from Saman. Maria was very helpful and easy to be in touch with throughout our stay. Great recommendations for day trips and places to eat and visit in Sorrento. Very central location - short walk to train and bus station, restaurants, shopping, bars and places of interest.

Maria Theresa is a FANTASTIC Host! She went above and beyond before we arrived in Sorrento. Organising Day-trips to Capri and the Amalfi Coast, along with a brilliant Private Pizza cooking class in their restaurant with 3rd generation pizza maker, Antonio! The room was perfect size for a couple, everything you require is within. The Bed is a memory foam and guarantees a great nights sleep! Breakfast each morning was personally served to our room and we enjoyed it on our balcony overlooking the city. Recommend visiting Capri on Boat tour and the Amalfi Coast day trip via private van. All of the restaurant recommendations that Maria will provide you upon request will not let you down. Especially, "La Cantinaccia del Popolo" family run restaurant that was 50m down the road from the accommodation. All in all, our trip to Sorrento was BRILLIANT, made even better with the help from Maria Theresa! we will be visiting again in the future and recommending to anyone that we know!

Great location. Close proximity to port and town square with fantastic restaurants. Comfortable and modern accommodation. Maria Teresa is the perfect host and most helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and was the perfect base for our tour of the Amalfi coast.
