Tahoe Sands Inn

Room was ok for what we needed. Clean but dated. Good beds and TV. Spacious but with no closet. Towels were small and cheap and hair dryer was not working. Heating and cooling system also dated but worked ok...overall a good value for a ski trip.

Parking was easy. Ice machine was not operational, bathroom was a little dirty. TV and mini fridge both worked. Just a bit too far from the Heavenly gondola to walk with snowboards though.

If any hotel has earned a one-star review, it’s Tahoe Sands Inn in South Lake Tahoe. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, and we were told we were being “upgraded” to a premium room. Unfortunately, the upgrade was a tiny 10x10 space where the queen (**Not the King I booked**) bed took up almost the entire room. There was barely room to move. It was snowing during our stay and the heater didn’t work. I called for assistance multiple times and no one ever came. I ended up relighting the pilot light myself every 30 minutes throughout the night just to keep the room from freezing. The toilet clogged with only liquids in it and it took four hours for staff to provide a plunger which is dropped off in a bag full of dead cockroaches. The TV barely worked — even at full volume you could hardly hear it. To make matters worse, there was a visible blood stain on the bed. There was no comforter, just thin sheets, which made the non-working heater even more uncomfortable. The room only had three extremely flat, uncomfortable pillows. If this was considered the “premium” room, I can’t imagine what the standard room looks like. Oh, by the way, check-in is not even on site. You have to walk next-door to the other apartments to check in. Very disappointing experience overall.

The hair dryer was broken and and plug was in the electrical outlet. The wires were clearly not connected yet still plugged in so its a dangerous fire and electrical hazard. I confronted the front desk and they said they did not have another one to swap us with and send me on my way. Additionally the heater was making knocking noises and the sink in the bathroom had a pluming issue. The front desk was not helpful at all. Later when I contacted *******, the rep reached out to the property and they denied everything.

Stayed there one night and we couldn’t sleep all night due to a non-stop equipment noise next to us. Room smells bad. Decoration of the room gives you a sad vibe right at the entry.Not worth the 200$ a night price tag. the hotel doesn’t have a check-in office. they will send you to the next hotel office for check-in.

For a low budget option, this booking worked out really well for me. The room was spacious and everything worked.

Bedsheet was dirty. Toilet was too close to wall, I had to squeeze myself, Toilet was shaky seems like someone did not fix it on the floor. bed mattress moved by itself on the box

Room was nice and very warm. The bathroom was a bit small but it worked . It was very quiet during our stay. No coffee pot or phone in room. They don't serve breakfast, only coffee in the morning in the office and don't want you cooking in the rooms. Big tvs with good channels. Would recommend bringing your own hair conditioner and shampoo.. nice location in the middle of everything of South lake Tahoe.

There was no one at check-in site and we had to go next door and call. The room was not very lean
