We arrived at the hotel was given our room and when we walked in it had not been cleaned we complained to reception, they had no cleaners to do it so we had to wait 45mins for other staff to do it.
The reception manager apologised and gave us a free drink but this is not what we expected from a well known company completely ruined our relaxing day.

Lovely place. Lovely grounds. Very clean pool. Sauna and steam room. Very friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a very comfortable and stress free night.

Beautiful grounds! The entrance to the hotel is amazing. It’s in a fantastic setting, lovely to walk around the grounds aha explore. The room is slightly dated in comparison to other hotels, however the bed is comfy and you have a tv and hot drink facilities. Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were a nice touch.

Always a nice place to stay. Staff are helpful and friendly. If there is anything they can help you with they do. I have stayed here 2 times in the last year and both visits are good. Its comfortable but a bit pricey! On the whole I will always try to stay here as its convenient for travel to family and the local area.

Firstly I must say this is a lovely building which has been beautifully restored. We had booked in for afternoon tea, and my reservation was made via the hotel website. Upon arrival, they could not find our booking, despite the hostess viewing my confirmation and saying this was indeed via their website. We were seated down and they were still able to accommodate the booking. Once we were served our afternoon tea, we were disappointed. The cakes we were served were stale and dry, clearly off cuts as they had not been prepared for our reservation - tables around us had different cakes to us. We did complain and the team were kind enough to replace the cakes with some different ones. Upon finishing our afternoon tea, we moved in to the bar area. There was no music playing and the room had no atmosphere, we felt that we had to whisper in there. Overall, the staff were friendly and the building was stunning but there were many factors that left us feeling disappointed. I am unsure if I would return for afternoon tea again.

Beautiful grounds & huge manor. Very welcoming & helpful staff. Nice buffet breakfast & they accommodated some vegetarian sausages on request. Plenty of fruit & cereals are available too. The only reason I gave a 4 * is because the room was very cold. A gap under the door let in the coldness of the corridors. These had many fire exit doors which where left open. A tiny wall heater took the chill off the room but I did find it unpleasant to get changed in & ended up putting my suitcase against the bottom of the door to act as a draft excluder. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again as offers a very good pre cruise stay & the Manor is very clean indeed. Excellent parking & taxi transfers to the dock

Great valve for money at this hotel for the facilities. Old manor hotel, a bit dated in places but for the money it was very good. A few issues but nothing that spoilt our one night stay here. Better than a Premier Inn stay 🤠
