The cottage is beautifully set in wonderful grounds, tucked away in the quiet countryside. Norma and Alan were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure that our stay was enjoyable. We enjoyed riding our bikes along the coastal path around St Andrews on day one and on day two visiting the small coastal villages, in particular Crail, further along the coast from St Andrews. A visit to the gin distillery was made on the way back for some sampling and purchases! Bur above all we just enjoyed the peace and quiet of Balmungo Cottage. The views from the cottage are stunning, looking out over St Andrews. The gardens are amazing and the breakfasts were a delight, made all the more enjoyable by the wildlife on display - the pheasant, fox, rabbits, squirrel, a medley of garden birds and a fantastically manic stoat!! And, at the end of the day, it was lovely to come back to the very comfortable cottage to relax in the lovely lounge and enjoy a good nights sleep in the super king size bed.
