Location: The cottage is perfectly situated just minutes from St Andrews, offering breathtaking views of the town and coastline. Despite its proximity to the town, it provides a tranquil, rural retreat, ideal for relaxation and exploration of local sights.

What a lovely stay. Alan and Norma are such lovely hosts and we had a very relaxing time. I was very surprised how quick it took to get into the town (thanks again Norma for the recommendations) and the golf courses (Castle is a great round of golf)

Love this gorgeous place. The hostess, Nicola, could not be more welcoming. Generous welcome package-the wine was so welcome after a very long drive! I am already planning to paint one of my rooms at home the same colour as one in the apartment. The decor is so tasteful and relaxing. VERY secure parking behind a gate coded estate. Beautiful grounds and lovely outdoor seating. Enjoyed a lovely hot bath and the shower is very powerful. It will be more than home from home for a lot of people. Don't hesitate to book. It is only a few mins drive to access St Andrews town and all the sight-seeing nearby, even though it is in a country setting and very peaceful. There is a lovely tea gardens, and gallery, only on the same road! Taxis readily available, and reasonably priced, if you dont want to drive to nearby restaurants.

The cottage and the owners Alan And Nora were very welcoming. Alan and Nora were really informative about the local area and the best places to visit. The cottage it self first class homely, with all facilities excellent. The cottage it’s self excellent space the lounge well laid out with a view to garden and StAndrews to died for. Both bedroom and bathroom excellent. Nice touches a great selection of teas, coffees, water and biscuits provided. A high level of cleanliness and a super breakfast provided to your choice. All in all 10 out of 10 to Alan And Norma we will be back soon. Mike and Avril.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying in Balmungo Cottage in September '23. The accomodation was perfect in every way. Our hosts, Alan & Norma could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay memorable. Balmungo cottage set the bar to a very high standard and if available, we would stay here again. Carmel & Pat

The cottage is beautifully set in wonderful grounds, tucked away in the quiet countryside. Norma and Alan were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure that our stay was enjoyable. We enjoyed riding our bikes along the coastal path around St Andrews on day one and on day two visiting the small coastal villages, in particular Crail, further along the coast from St Andrews. A visit to the gin distillery was made on the way back for some sampling and purchases! Bur above all we just enjoyed the peace and quiet of Balmungo Cottage. The views from the cottage are stunning, looking out over St Andrews. The gardens are amazing and the breakfasts were a delight, made all the more enjoyable by the wildlife on display - the pheasant, fox, rabbits, squirrel, a medley of garden birds and a fantastically manic stoat!! And, at the end of the day, it was lovely to come back to the very comfortable cottage to relax in the lovely lounge and enjoy a good nights sleep in the super king size bed.

Amazing, in pretty much every way. Whether that’s the stunning views of the town itself and wonderful Scottish coast, the comfy feel of the cottage or the amazing service offered by Alan and Norma. The breakfast is particularly good with a variety of options and we particularly enjoyed the homemade jams and marmalades. A 5 minute drive from the town centre is perfect for anyone. We will definitely be back as we throughly enjoyed our stay.

The location is amazing - Alan and Norma have created a beautiful and comfy "home from home" The breakfast is really very good, with lots of choices. We especialy loved the home made gooseberry jam and marmalade as well as bread from the local bakery. The gardens are a delight with glorious views across the fields to St Andrews itself. We spent a fair bit of time just chilling, being entertained by the antics of Mr and Mrs Pheasant (named by one of the grandchildren "Elivis" and Priscilla") as they scrambled to feed on seeds in the garden. The decor is lovely with lots of quirky and interesting arts and crafts. A wonderful retreat but close to all the amenites and tourist spots around the East Neuk.
