Cardor Holiday Complex

In our case we rented an apartment, and everything was as we expected. In case it serves as a clarification for the possible doubt that arose to us, when seeing opinions about having to go to the reception of another hotel and others... the same company has two hotels and an apartment building. The photos show the facilities of the newest hotel, the one with the reception and the one in better condition. We all have access to them. But it is true that there are three types of installations, with three prices and therefore different states. Even so, everything is very good for the price, and all the hotels are close to each other. The best thing is that it is very close to the central bus stop, and the worst thing is that if we had to leave at 11, the cleaners were calling and ”throwing us out” at 10 (of course, we didn't leave until 11). .
Qawra Point Holiday Complex

This is not the first time I've stayed at Qawra Point Complex, it has always been a pleasure to stay. The staff couldn't be more accommodating, very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and rooms cleaned daily. There was everything needed in the apartment, fridge freezer, kettle, cups, cutlery etc The location is perfect, close to bars restaurants, transport routes. Of course it isn't a huge hotel complex or chain and therefore I don't expect it to have everything, you're also not paying those prices. The wifi is free and in all areas. I have taken my father with me on more than one occasion as he enjoys everything the hotel and area has to offer and he can be critical if he doesn't believe something is good value. I feel safe wandering round the area on my own and have been given fantastic recommendations for places to go from the staff team there. The rooftop pool area is small, the view is wonderful, it's a lovely place to relax. I will most certainly be returning.
The Santa Maria Hotel

Where do I begin. Clever photography makes this tired old hotel seem like an idyllic place to stay. Wrong. Apart from the grand reception area this hotel is a pit that is badly run by uncooperative staff who put up a brick wall when you have an issue. There was no disability access into the property and I had to help my wife up and down 5 steps every time we entered & left. The whole place is filthy including the restaurant. We witnessed staff wiping tables, chairs & hot buffet serving areas with the same cloth without the use of any bacterial spray. If this hotel was in England, EHO would have a field day & close it immediately. The hotel has a dress code for the evening meal (smart /casual) but during our stay the hotel were accommodating a vast amount of builders who descended on the restaurant in their filthy work gear and dumping their safety helmets on the dining tables. The staff seemed nervous & reluctant to ask if we were having a nice holiday because they knew what the answer would be. The food was absolutely appalling. Pre cooked, dry and tasteless & repetitive. People need to know what a dire place this is before they part with their hard earned money. Having read other reviews & seen the hotels response that their views are duly noted, i can't believe that the Website we booked on are still taking bookings. This constitutes misrepresentation & should be stopped.
Porto Azzurro Aparthotel

Love this hotel. Its exceptional value and has a lovely friendly feel to it that is missing now in a lot of the more modern/expensive/ upmarket hotels. Infact during our annual winter break at a variety of Maltese hotels and apartments we have found the quality of the beds, pillows, towels, toilet rolls and cleaning at the Porto Azzuro far superior to more expensive hotels. The rooms are spacious and well equipped for the comfort of self catering and we were lucky enough to be given a huge sun terrace with fantastic views. There are many fantastic walks out of the door. It's a nice quiet area in winter to escape the hustle and bustle, go walking and come back and relax. I can't find any faults, the price is excellent especially booking directly with the hotel, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, coffee machine in reception, lovely little gym, games and indoor pool, bus stops and a great cafe and supermarket around the corner. After a disappointing and uncomfortable stay at one of the big sliema hotels its been a joy to come here and be met by a welcoming Joanna and have comfort, space ,cleanliness and great views. This is our 2nd stay and hope to return next year.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Wifi is fast. Rooms cleaned daily. Good front desk. Breakfast good and varied every day. Can't really complain about anything. Would go for seaview room next time. Great roof terrace and not really used. Had it to myself really. Easy to get local buses or cabs. Used ecabs app.
