Needed a place to stay to attend a weekend event at St James' Park and, having never been to Newcastle before, I used a hotel booking site to find somewhere reasonably priced and nearby. I couldn't have chosen better. I contacted The Ball Alley when I booked to see if I could.leave my car there on the Saturday morning while at the stadium- no problem. Bus stop within a few metres into the city centre. On arriving back in the evening, it was lively in the bar with a singer on and apologies were made but, it was fine and we couldn't hear her much unless someone left the bar area as the windows were all open. We were able to take drinks up to our room and, since they don't serve food, ordered a takeaway to be delivered. No problem. Great night's sleep and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was lovely. Really helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely choose to stay here again.
