Great
CCindyThis hotel is absolutely fantastic! The room was already quite spacious, but what I loved most were the bathroom and shower – they're huge, with a perfect wet/dry separation. The Refa shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were amazing. The location is also superb. It's less than a 5-minute walk to Daimaru department store and Tenjin Underground Mall. If you walk in the opposite direction and cross the bridge, you'll find the Yatai food stalls, Nakasu, and the Ichiran Ramen head office. KOMEDA is right across the street from the hotel, making it a great spot for brunch. Kanetora Ramen is also very close, just a short walk away. I spent three days in Fukuoka and could basically walk everywhere. A taxi to Fukuoka Airport only takes about 15 minutes and costs around 100 RMB, which is incredibly convenient. Highly recommended! The Italian restaurant downstairs at the hotel is also pretty good.

GGuest UserThe location is excellent as it is very near to both Hakata station and the bus stop to airport , about 3-5 minutes walk. The hotel provides sekkisei skin cares in the bathroom which is a bonus. Staff are friendly and helpful. They stored my luggage for two days while I was away and charged 500yen per luggage per day which is reasonable too. However,  I find a lack of space in the room for luggage. I booked the 18m room with twin beds. The walking path is narrow and can hardly open my luggage and I am only carrying a cabin n medium sized luggage and they only provide three hangers in the room 😆

EE1846****Unlike the two previous hotels I booked, this one is much closer to the JR station and the airport shuttle bus. You don't even need to cross the road; it's just a left turn right outside the Chikushi Exit. I was unexpectedly upgraded from the king-sized room I originally booked to their largest twin room. It was over 30 square meters, could accommodate three people, and felt like a small suite – definitely the biggest room I stayed in during this trip. The bathroom featured double sinks, and to my surprise, there was even a sanitizing wardrobe. Next to the bed, there was a small lounge area with a sofa and a table, plus two massage devices. The only drawback was the lack of a window. Check-in and check-out were entirely self-service and very convenient. Complimentary coffee and disposable toiletries were available on the first floor. Diagonally opposite, you'll find Daikoku Drug, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and FamilyMart, while a Lawson convenience store is conveniently located right next door.

TThe FestejosWe stayed at Hotel Oriental Express Fukuoka Tenjin for 8 nights as a family of six, and we booked three rooms. The location was really convenient because everything we needed was just a short walk away. The rooms were small, which is normal in Japan, but they were very clean and comfortable. For breakfast, it’s honestly better to try it once and skip the package. The food is okay, but the menu never changes. Since there are so many great places to eat around the hotel, it’s not worth booking the room with breakfast. You’ll enjoy your meals more outside and you won’t end up repeating the same thing every morning. They also have a lounge on the 3rd floor. We only wanted to use it for a simple midnight snack from our food delivery, but we still weren’t allowed because the rule says you can only eat there if the food is bought from the hotel. The lounge does have vending machines for meals and drinks, which is convenient. For families like us who prefer to sit together, the rooms are too small to eat comfortably, so the lounge rule felt impractical. Housekeeping was great. The staff were always polite and greeted us, which was a nice contrast to one of the receptionists. She raised her voice more than once and always seemed irritated. She acted as if she owned the hotel. This was not just with us but also with other guests. We didn’t bother getting her name anymore, but it was disappointing because it’s not the level of hospitality you expect in Japan. Other helpful things: there’s a coin laundry, which is great for long stays, and there’s a pharmacy on the ground floor that was just about to have its grand opening by the time we checked out. Pros: • Excellent location near shops, restaurants, and train stations • Clean and well-maintained rooms • Good value for the area • Family-friendly setup • Housekeeping is polite and friendly • Lounge has vending machines for meals and drinks • Coin laundry available Cons: • Breakfast is repetitive and not worth booking for long stays • Lounge rules are too strict even for simple midnight snacks • Rooms are small • One of the receptionists was consistently rude and unprofessional • Pharmacy wasn’t open yet during our stay Overall, the stay was still manageable because of the location and cleanliness, but some policies and one staff member’s attitude made a noticeable impact. Fine for short stays, but long-stay families should know these things in advance.

KKZ8909First impression of the room not impressed, feels like “maintenance on progress” of the room. Table wasn’t clean, some dust left at the headboard. The air/ fan system wasn’t satisfy due the fan system share every rooms per floor. Fortunately, air purifier are available to borrow ( need to check is it available any spares air purifier), at least some air flow in my room. Bed and shower stall no complains, functions normal. Great location, 5-7 mins walk to Hakata St. or Tenjin St. . Hotel service excellent. Laundry room also provide good instruction and detegent automatically load during washing. Experience wasn’t full satisfy, but room service provide no doubt is excellent. Score: 7/10 (marks deduction of cleaning and fan system)

헤수스The place is very clean. It is literally next to the subway station so it is very convenient. I stayed during summer so it was hot outside, but the lounge and the building was cool. The only problem is that if you close the curtains of your pod, you might get hot quickly, unless you leave it partially opened. The faucet on the 2nd floor bathroom wasn’t working so you’d have to go to another floor to wash your hands. Breakfast was good, very friendly staff and good connectivity to the airport and hot places like Hakata station.

MMiyu BirdiePersonal opinion as a female Asian traveler. Location: 20 mins walk from Hakata station. 4 mins walk to Gion bus stop or canal city bus stop, both go to Hakata station in around 10 mins. Also, 15 mins walk to Kawabata Shopping Arcade and Canal CityHakata. There are not many restaurants nearby, only convenient stores around the area. Better eat before returning to the hotel. There is a MaxValu Express (open for 24 hrs, 2 levels: 1st floor drugsstore and B1 supermarket) 4 mins walk from the hotel. Great option for late night snacks, drinks, daily necessities, and tax-free shopping. Room: small and a bit old, cleanliness ok, no bath tub only shower stall. Shower water is not hot enough. Very poor sound insulation (recommended to use earplugs when sleepping. Provided on 1st floor of hotel). You can hear almost every single activity happening next door(literally meaning). Light switches far away from bed, which is a bit inconvenient. Front desk: it is an unmanned hotel. Self check-in via smartphone prior (utilizing the QR code) or via computer on 1st floor. Self check-out via tablet provided inside the room or computer on 1st floor. Using password to enter room. There is a female staff member in the lobby area in the morning if needed help for anything. She doesn't speak much English but is very friendly and willing to help. Also, you can text the hotel staff member for assistance if needed via the room tablet provided. They reply quickly. Amenities: self-service, self luggage storage, only basic items provided. There is no ice maker and only 1 laundry machine on the 1st floor (always being occupied). All in all, Pros: though the hotel is unmanned, I find it pretty chill, easy and efficient as long as you figure out how things work (not hard at all, perhaps more accessible for younger visitors). Cons: You really have to lower your expectations for everything else. I personally feel it is more like a hostel than a hotel. But considering it is the Hakata area and with this affortable price, can't murmur.

MM21736****The room was very spacious, and we were extremely happy with it. It came equipped with a washing machine and a microwave, and the fridge was also a good size. The sofa was very comfortable, making it perfect for two people. My only minor suggestion would be for a slightly larger bed.
