GGuest UserGreat value for money! The decor, ambiance, and service are all excellent. I booked a two-story loft, and the interior design is really nice and stylish. At night, there are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. Plus, it's conveniently located for transportation.

AAnonymous UserHere’s a polished English review based on your experience: ⸻ I had a very pleasant stay at Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden (上海外滩豫园美居酒店). I arrived early around 11 AM, and the staff were extremely helpful in assisting with an early check-in, which I truly appreciated after a long journey. The room I booked met all my expectations. I chose the duck-themed room, and it was absolutely perfect—especially for my child, who loved it so much. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for families. I also requested a late check-out until 7 PM, and the hotel kindly offered an option to extend the stay by adding extra hours. This flexibility was very helpful for my schedule. One thing that stood out was the bathroom, which was equipped with a bidet. As an Indonesian family, this is something we really value for personal hygiene, and it made our stay much more comfortable. The hotel’s location is very strategic. It is close to Xiaotaoyuan Mosque, making it very convenient for Muslim guests, especially for attending Friday prayers. In addition, the hotel provides a shuttle service to Yu Yuan Garden and other nearby tourist attractions, which made exploring the area much easier. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families and Muslim travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and thoughtful amenities in Shanghai.

DDOLPHINETravelling time in car from Shanghai Pudong International airport T1 about one hour (Depends on traffic - we were caught in slight jam at 4plus). Checking in to hotel is a breeze. As I have paid for the hotel when I booked with Trip.com, they didnt ask for additional deposit or credit card details (which many other hotels will do). They are pleasant, friendly and helpful. Room is relatively good size. There are one Queen bed, one single bed (not sofa bed), table with 2 chairs, fridge, side tables, large television, etc. We have good walking space in the room. Very comfortable beds. Mattresses are just nice for us including for someone with back issue. The hotel provided 2 types of pillows for each person. Sleep real well. Bathroom has installed German brand Hansgrohe bathroom accessories. The shower area is properly done up, no water spill out from shower area to other parts of the bathroom. Very rare. Nice! We love bathroom to be dry always. It comes with hairdryer and water jug for hot water, soft drinks and bottles of water. Sufficient glasses for drinking. Absolutely no good views looking out from windows. Do not expect anything for views. It is a bonus if you have it. Not really affecting us since most of the time we have the day curtains and we are out most of the time. Though we do not require any room clean-up, they will still tidy up the room. For those who do not want to be disturbed, you may want to speak to the front desk or put it in the wechat (they set up for us when we check-in). Cleaners are friendly too. Lift - if you read some people stating only one lift, WRONG! There are two lifts (one inside the lobby, one outside the hotel). You will have to wait longer if you use the one in the lobby, shared with food delivery robots. The lift outside allows you to access easily without the need of passing through the front desk. Less crowded. I didnt know about this lift until last day 😀 This hotel is centrally located, very close to Nanjing Pedestrian street and the Metro (MRT/MTR) East Nanjing road station, we walk to The Bund too. Many eateries and shops. We did not take up any breakfast with the hotel since it is really convenient to eat anywhere nearby. Understand from the front desk if you take up the hotel breakfast upon arrival, there is a discount. Fyi. Restaurant, gym, laundry room are on the 4th floor. Hotel rooms are on 3rd to 8th floor. We took a didi (taxi) to Shanghai train station, it is about 15mins ride. Understand to take metro/mrt/mtr from East Nanjing Metro Station to Shanghai train station, it is 30mins (from what I checked with front desk). We took didi to Yu Garden, arrived around 10mins. Understand we are able to walk from hotel to Yi Garden, probably takes between 20 to 30 minutes, or taking the metro East Nanjing Road Station (close to hotel) and take Line 10 one stop to Yuyuan Garden Station. City bus (red colour), you can take from Nanjing Pedestrian street (closer to the hotel). We paid RMB81 each. We board around 6pm, last 24 hours. Using the same ticket, you can hop to blue and green bus too. Weather here in first week of April is estimated between 11 to 20 degrees celsius. Day time is warm, wear short sleeve shirt will do. Bring a jacket, when the wind blows, it can be cold when weather changes. We have a great time staying in this hotel, factor in the good service, the room space, convenience, location... Will stay in this hotel if I visit Shanghai again. Thank you to the lady at front desk for your kind gesture, giving me a small bag of cookies when I check-out. Much appreciated. See you next time, Crystal Orange Shanghai the Bund Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street Hotel.

AAnonymous UserA perfect stay! The hotel's location is excellent, the room was spacious, quiet, and very clean, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. On the day I checked in, I missed dinner and ended up with low blood sugar. The restaurant was busy with a group of Indian guests who had pre-booked a meal. A staff member, perhaps noticing I was very hungry, very kindly brought me two bowls of millet porridge. As someone who travels frequently for business, it's rare and truly appreciated to find a hotel where the staff are so kind and provide prompt service. After all, this wasn't part of the hotel staff's duties, especially since the hotel doesn't even offer dinner service. Yet, this staff member, despite clearly being very busy, immediately noticed a guest's need and went above and beyond their job scope. This is the greatest kindness you can show a guest. I believe this reflects the great care and culture instilled by the company, truly a hallmark of an excellent establishment. I extend my sincere thanks to all the hotel's management and staff, especially that particular team member 🙏. Note: My photos don't do it justice; the room was actually fantastic 🎉

GGuest UserProbably the best bang for your buck hotel in Shanghai!! The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. They provide new towels, refreshments and toiletries everyday which is amazing. The staff were also very friendly. Location is 1 minute walk to Line 14 Metro and was very convenient. I definitely would come back here in my next visit in Shanghai. 🤩

PPierrelgSTAFF PRESSURING FOR 5-STAR REVIEWS AT CHECKOUT Staff Interaction: March 25, 2026 | ~1:10 PM At checkout, one male staff member and two female staff members at the front desk aggressively pressured me to provide a 5-star review on the spot. Even after I told them I would do it later, they repeatedly insisted, saying ”No—right now” Please be aware that recent 5-star reviews may have been forced under these circumstances. Hotel Review: Room 8109 Overall Experience While the hotel's location and facilities are excellent, the stay was marred by an uncomfortable checkout process and near-constant connectivity issues. The Negatives Unreliable Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi in room 8109 was almost non-existent. I had to top up my own mobile data and was unable to use the screen-sharing feature on the TV due to the poor connection. Front Desk Atmosphere: Most desk staff appeared disinterested and unwelcoming. In contrast, the cleaning staff were consistently friendly and full of positive energy. Room Layout: My room was on the first floor and had no windows. Additionally, all TV channels were in Chinese, though I was able to enjoy the Olympics on CCTV5. The Positives Prime Location: Unbeatable convenience. It is only an 8-minute walk to the Bund and very close to other popular hotspots. Room Quality: The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable bed and have great shower pressure. Nightly Snacks: A very nice touch—they offer snacks from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM, which was extremely convenient. They offer free tea and there's also a small gym. Final Verdict: I would consider staying here again for the location and the snacks, but only if the Wi-Fi is improved and the front desk staff stops forcing guests to provide immediate 5-star feedback.

CCurious TravellerGreat location if you are heading for Disneyland or has an early flight to catch the next morning. Otherwise it is quite far from Shanghai city center - JingAn area- with no traffic - 45 min taxi ride) The hotel offers free shuttle to Disneyland which departs the hotel at 7:20am; and returns to the hotel at 10:20pm. It was a bit late for us since we finished watching the fireworks at 830pm. (Disneyland closes at 9:30pm ). So we just took a taxi (very few people waiting and cost ~RMB50; while the online car service costs ~R30 but the waiting area was very congested. The free shuttle to Putong airport departs on the hour and starts from 4 or 5am and takes less than 30min. Need to book one day in advance at the front desk. Our 3 persons family room has a double bed and a proper single bed( not fold up bed). Spacious enough for luggages. The negatives - we booked and paid for 3 persons - but hotel only offered breakfast for 2. We booked 2 nights but only has breakfast for one day. Strangest arrangement I have ever seen. BF - has reasonable options of Chinese and western cuisine . Noodle Bar was the best. Night snack- also has noodle bar with dumplings and congee.

PPurelifetravelsThis location is very close to the parks. It’s nice to have a free shuttle bus to take you there. The room was very clean and decorations were great. I’ve stayed at many other Disney parks around the world, and usually their toothbrushes and other things you can take with you. It was very strange to have two toy story mugs for coffee, but then two regular mugs but you couldn’t take the Toy story mugs. My biggest complaint was the food I checked in at eight and I stayed two nights the first night. You could only order from room service because the restaurant closes early, but the food selection is horrible. Most of the food is very Asian they did have a ham and cheese sandwich, which I had it had so much mayonnaise on it you could swim in it. It would’ve been nice to have a burger or pasta or more western things on the menu. It would’ve also been nice to have some drinks and snacks. You can buy in the gift shop so you can take with you to the park. The gift shop was nothing but clothing and souvenirs.

GGuest UserWe had a really pleasant stay at Waiting Century Hotel. We’re a group of 4 persons and booked a duplex room for our stay in Shanghai. Good location, especially for those who travel to other cities like Wuxi, Suzhou, even Hangzhou. It’s a walking distance to Shanghai Railway Station and metro. Around the hotel, there are convenience stores (Lawson, Family Mart) and coffee shops (Luckin Coffee, Manner Coffee) and other local restaurants. The hotel also provides free coffee, ice, and some candy at the lobby. The hotel staff are also nice. One downside though. The 2nd floor of the duplex room is a bit hot. You need to open the window and let the air outside into your room. Overall, a really good place to stay.

ἈστραῖοςLocated in the heart of Shanghai's historic Juxingchang area, the former guesthouse of Air Force Unit 4 holds an unmissable and pivotal position in modern Chinese history. To be honest, I was initially hesitant; I had originally booked the Yan'an Hotel, but was persuaded by the travel agency to switch to this place. On the eve of the 24th anniversary of '913' (September 13th), I was in the attic room here, rushing to meet my school deadlines. On the evening of September 13th, Shanghai was hit by a heavy downpour. My family and I were having dinner at the adjacent Xi Family Garden. We borrowed two umbrellas from Manager Zhang at the front desk, one of his own and one from a colleague. I'm truly grateful for this trust, and also want to thank Manager Zhang for his thoughtful service over the past two days.
