4-Star Hotels in Zhangjiajie

Honestly I cannot praise the wonderful staff here enough. From the moment we arrived, mid torrential rain, the staff and their service was impeccable - rushing out in the rain to grab our luggage. The wonderful ladies at reception made the trip to Zhangjiajie smooth, organising car rides to and from the entrance of the national park, helping book tickets, and giving great sight seeing advice. They even helped us order food deliveries on some of the late nights we got back. On the last day I lost my AirPods, well they were taken/stolen during my time in the park by someone - and the staff were very helpful in trying to sort out a police report etc. Again, the service here is second to none and I cannot praise it enough. The hotel itself is modern, quiet and clean. The room was a good size too. The breakfast was also decent, offering a range of selections. I have no pictures of the hotel itself sadly but here’s some of the area over the past four days.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lanting Elegant. Really nice rooms in a great location and breakfast was tasty. The room felt very luxurious, staff were friendly and only 10 minutes walk from the main entrance point of Zhangjiajie national park, with plenty of nearby restaurants. The only constructive feedback would be that some of the lobby and cafeteria sections of the hotel could benefit from a bit of renovation, however overall this was a great stay and we’d recommend the hotel to guests coming to Zhangjiajie. We especially enjoyed the little surprises upon our arrival, including the personal note and the flowers - this made it feel very special!

Manyuan Resort Hotel is located in the Wulingyuan district of Zhangjiajie, making it an ideal place to stay when you are visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Baofeng Lake, and the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. In fact, it is only a walking distance to the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and there are many restaurants and food stalls near the hotel. We had booked a non-smoking room, but the room we were given had the faint smell of smoke and there was an ash tray in the room. When we raised the issue to the staff, they were very accommodating to our concerns and it was resolved smoothly. Overall, the room was clean and kid-friendly because there was a small toy slide in the room. Also, we loved how our room had a wonderful view of the river in front of the hotel and of the looming mountains in the distance. Their buffet breakfast was excellent! There was a variety of food and drinks. Noodles, fried rice, meat dishes, vegetable dishes, bread, fruit, etc. Every dish we tried in the hotel was delicious and very satisfactory to our tastes. All the staff we encountered was very accommodating, warm, and hospitable. We loved how they gave us a personalized experience during our stay in Manyuan Resort Hotel. The hotel concierge, Xiaolin, was so helpful with our trip around Wulingyuan. She helped us in booking our tickets and recommending the routes to take in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Baofeng Lake, and the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. She was also able to secure a student discount for my daughter even though she does not go to a Chinese university. Words cannot express just how grateful we are to Xiaolin. The hotel’s price is reasonable and worth it. We highly recommend Manyuan Resort Hotel to those who plan to visit Wulingyuan.

The lobby is beautiful and the staff is outstanding—especially housekeeping and the front desk. Our room was one of the cleanest we've seen during our month-long trip across China. The bed was very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and well-maintained. Breakfast was rich and varied, with a spacious dining area—sitting by the window was a real treat. A big plus: the rooftop has washing/drying machines and a gym, making our stay even more convenient. We also noticed many international guests, which further confirmed the hotel's high quality and great reputation. If we had to mention one downside, it would be unrelated to the hotel—the tourist agency’s glass bridge tour. We paid over 900 yuan for two people with a guide, but it wasn’t as exciting as expected. Other attractions in Zhangjiajie were far more impressive. Overall, this hotel truly stands out—we highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay. 小徐，小甜，小莫 took very good care of us, from helping us plan our route in ZhangJiaJie, book tickets, contacting our next hotel, recommending food and massage place, to helping us top up our alipay wallet. They really go above and beyond their duties and made us feel that we are in good hands. Breakfast is provided and there's a laundry room to wash and dry the clothes. Will definitely recommend to friends and families

I would say this hotel had one of the best personalised services I have ever experienced, upon arrival we were were quickly checked in even though we were early. They asked us what our plans were for the day and quickly helped use reorganise our plans since we didn’t have much time. 夏花 sat down with us and explained each attraction in much details and which routes to take. she sent us a step by plan of how we should best spend our day so we see all the things we want to see. we found this very helpful because zhangjiajie national park was so big. She also checked in with us throughout the day to make sure we were okay. I had messaged her one time since we were lost and she helped direct us back in the right direction. while we had to rebook our tickets for the attractions, the extra money we spent was worth it as it made our trip easier and gave us more flexibility to access to different activities within the attraction.

Great hotel and convenient location. Nearby to the tianmensan cableway and great facilities located near the downtown area. Staff were caring and met all our needs.

I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and want to enter Park via the East Gate at Wulingyuan. The hotel is located 5 - 7 minutes walk from the East Gate which makes it easy to get to and back to hotel. The street in front of the hotel is filled with street food vendors and come ”alive” in the evening. Do note there are not many shops around the hotel vicinity though there are a few convenience stores. The hotel staff were very helpful and provided very good advice and itinerary on how best to visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park over 3 days, and also recommended places to eat around the hotel. Hotel provides a simple breakfast and they will cook noodles and wantons on order. I got a quiet room (which I requested) on 6th floor facing the back of hotel - if you want a quiet room suggest you request for higher floor away from the affiliated restaurant on the ground floor. The room was simple with a comfortable bed, ample space and power sockets. The only point that was not so good was the central air conditioner worked well for the first night (no rain) but did not work well for next 2 nights (when it was raining). Part of the problem rests with me that I didn't report the problem after the second night & only gave the feedback when I checked out - I was told by staff that the problem was likely caused by the rain.

The location is 800 meters away from the Tianmen Mountain Cableway Up Station, which is convenient for walking. It is not in the downtown area. The room size and facilities are also OK, and the breakfast is good. We booked three rooms for three people. Two of them checked out at 8:30 the next morning, and the other one was delayed to 2:00 because we took a slightly wrong route on the mountain and could not check out on time at 2:00. I contacted the hotel to discuss it, and the front desk staff said there was a charge of 40 for each extra hour. We delayed for an hour and arrived at the hotel to check out at 3:00 sharp. The front desk staff urged us to take our things down quickly. If we had intended to delay, we would not have checked out of the other two rooms early at 8:30 am to make it easier for the hotel to accommodate other guests. Compared with other hotels, it is not flexible and has no warmth.
