YYienyiFrom the moment we checked in, the staff (the lady at the front desk) gave us a warm and ceremonial welcome. Stepping into the hotel courtyard, I absolutely loved how it blended into nature and maintained its rustic charm. The designer's unique concept of a nomadic hotel set within ruins, with dilapidated walls on the outside yet exquisite interiors, was truly impressive. The afternoon tea was delicious, and the dinner ingredients were fresh and clean; the beef was incredibly tender. We also got to experience many local cultural activities, such as the traditional '圍爐煮茶' (tea brewing around a stove), '煨桑祈福' (a local blessing ritual with incense burning), and '拓印' (rubbings). The rooms even have diffused oxygen supply. Lying in bed, we could see Caishen Mountain, grasslands, lakes, yaks, and horses, which truly brought this historic building back to life. Each project by 'Jianglu' tells a story, and I really love it here…

GGuest UserThis mountain B&B in Niru Village is the best. It's quite remote, requiring a long drive up a mountain road to reach the B&B. The road is in decent condition, and cars can reach it, but there's a narrow stretch of road, about 20 kilometers, where only one car can pass, making passing traffic a challenge. All the staff at the B&B were warm and welcoming, especially the owner, who was very friendly, welcoming, and responsive. He even helped us buy fresh matsutake mushrooms and prepare sashimi from a local farmer—a real help. The local chicken soup was delicious. They took us on a free hike, and when we returned, the front desk lady even offered to clean our shoes—very thoughtful. There were some downsides. Perhaps due to a construction design issue, the sewer didn't have a trap, so when we woke up, we found a bathtub crawling with bugs.

LlaoxipiI first visited Balagezong in 2021, and my impression then was simply: uniquely beautiful. The mountain road winds through the deep mountains, far from the crowds, quiet and peaceful. It's the perfect place to escape into the mountains and completely disconnect from the world. That year, I celebrated New Year's Eve here with friends. Looking up, we saw the entire Milky Way, with stars that shone incredibly brightly. Back then, food options in the scenic area were limited, besides the hotel and Bala Village, it was easy to get hungry at night. I remember the butler specially brought us warm and comforting butter tea, which was incredibly healing. The local chicken was also unforgettably delicious. So this Chinese New Year, when I thought about the usual crowds everywhere, my first thought was: Let's go back to Balagezong and take my parents for an in-depth visit. We experienced the famous 'Eighteen Bends' mountain road. My mom actually got motion sickness, which was quite funny 😂. But after truly learning about the incredible story behind building this road, you can only feel awe and admiration; every inch of it was hard-won. We booked three days and two nights, which felt relaxed and comfortable. Although we didn't get the snow scenery we hoped for, which was a small pity, the views were still worthwhile. The Echo Wall trail is very accessible; even people who don't usually hike much or have average mobility can easily complete it. The canyon rafting offered stunning clear blue water all the way, with expansive views, a beautiful and serene experience. The locals in the scenic area are incredibly simple and honest, and the hotel offers thoughtful shuttle services, making everything worry-free and reassuring. My only small personal suggestion: For someone like me, who's a 'hotel connoisseur,' the hotel bedding was a bit too soft. I hope for a small upgrade; it would make the experience even more perfect~

LLuosimasuosihebayueThis must be a magical garden! I love this camp so much! I can't praise it enough! Every corner is beautiful! We stayed in a large tent, and the view was incredible. Haba Snow Mountain was right across the street. The tent was fully equipped with everything, including a heater, electric blanket, and a comfortable mattress. The wooden bathroom outside the tent also had L'Occitane toiletries, face towels, and a toilet seat. And best of all, Haba Snow Mountain was right outside the window (۶ꈨຶꎁꈨຶ). Also, there's their own cafe right next to the campsite, and the coffee, sparkling water, and snacks were all delicious! Breakfast was noodles, eggs, apple slices, corn, and milk! So filling and delicious! The owner is so handsome and beautiful! And our adorable dog, Dai Meng, is so sweet! He's always there to play with us and even comes to our tent in the morning to call us to breakfast! His fur is soft and his bones are strong—he's a perfect dog (˃ ⌑ ˂ഃ). I highly recommend Granpin Camp! I'll be back next time!

GGuest UserThe location is superb, truly a secluded paradise. The room features a ******* folk house design, with the living room and bedroom on the second floor, and the washroom/dressing area on the first floor. Guests with mobility issues should consider this carefully. It comes with a small courtyard where the rhododendrons were in full bloom. Enjoying tea and the scenery in the courtyard was very comfortable. The only downside is that transportation is indeed inconvenient. If you're not driving, you absolutely won't be able to hail a taxi from the hotel; you'll have to ask the hotel to arrange one. I participated in the morning White Pagoda feeding ceremony organized by the hotel and also visited the nearby Dabaosi Temple, which I really enjoyed. Breakfast on the first day was a buffet. On the second day, it switched to à la carte due to fewer guests, but there were still plenty of choices. I'm very grateful for the attentive service from the hotel's warm staff over the past two days, especially our two 'little housekeepers,' Ligil and Alicia.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, each featuring a private balcony, allowing you to fully admire Songzanlin Monastery without even stepping out. The hotel amenities are incredibly rich. The exquisite afternoon tea is delicious, and you can also visit the museum or try outdoor activities like archery and horseback riding. The Chinese restaurant's dishes are consistently good, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors – almost impossible to go wrong. After breakfast, there's a dedicated guide who takes guests to Songzanlin Monastery for a tour and explanation, saving you the hassle of planning your own route and making travel incredibly convenient. I must particularly praise our butler, Zhima Lamu. Her service throughout our stay was attentive, thoughtful, and meticulous. On the second day, our child woke up with a headache and felt unwell due to altitude sickness. After we contacted her, she promptly delivered nasal oxygen early in the morning and even brought breakfast to our room, allowing us to rest comfortably. This really put our minds at ease when traveling with a child at high altitude. For anyone bringing children to Shangri-La, I highly recommend staying at Songtsam Linka. It makes the entire trip effortless and worry-free. The overall experience was impeccable and we were extremely satisfied!

DDalilixiaomoliBalagezong (Shangri-La Grand Canyon) is truly breathtaking. If this wasn't a hotel review, I'd write extensively about it. The guesthouse's location is good, with Gezong Snow Mountain right across, seemingly within reach. However, Balagezong Village itself has few residents, making it feel quite deserted, but that's precisely what you'd expect in the heart of the mountains. The young lady at the hotel's front desk was lovely and very capable, handling many details perfectly and organizing our activities flawlessly. When I learned she was a student working during her winter break, I deeply resonated with her situation, as I, too, was studying abroad and working part-time at her age. I also want to thank the young man at the front desk who helped us with our luggage; he was very enthusiastic. During check-in, there was a minor issue (see pictures) where something in the bathroom fell off. However, my father told me not to complain so as not to trouble the young lady, and I followed his advice. That's why I gave a 5-star rating for facilities. Honestly, you do need to improve, especially the bathroom's temperature control. The heating device automatically shuts off, and once it does, the bathroom's temperature drops to about 10-odd degrees Celsius, which is really cold. I gave a poor rating for service, and this specific complaint is about breakfast. Your breakfast is truly laughable. I just want to ask your locals if they can get full from this? Paying over a thousand yuan for a room and getting a breakfast that's like a guesthouse's (or even worse than a guesthouse's) – don't you think that's incredibly unfair to the distant friends who come here to visit? I deeply admire Snamedinzhu for doing so much for his hometown and his people. So, those who come after, please don't tarnish his legacy. I also want to criticize the attitude of some locals and tourists here. Apart from the young man who checked me in and the shuttle bus drivers, other locals I encountered (like the driver the guesthouse called for our transfer and restaurant staff at the guesthouse) were unfriendly. I don't believe it's just because you're 'straightforward' or 'blunt.' Do you speak to your friends and family impolitely too? Again, please don't embarrass Snamedinzhu. If you don't welcome tourists, you can just say so. It's not like we absolutely have to come here.

GGuest UserThis is an older hotel with small rooms, frequently overrun by tour groups. The breakfast was terrible. I chose this location, thinking its distance from the old town would offer a quieter stay, but to my dismay, it was incredibly noisy even late into the night. The tour groups were quite ill-behaved, constantly slamming doors and making a racket! Moreover, due to its location right at the entrance of the scenic area, you can expect a 5-minute traffic delay every time you enter or leave.
