We stayed in July, our third year in a row. We keep coming back because we like it so much. We’ve tried three different rooms and have liked them all. The Inn at Stockbridge has a VERY convenient location, close to Stockbridge, Lenox, Lee, and Tanglewood… and fairly close to Great Barrington and Pittsfield, all places we regularly visit. We love the grounds between the three buildings as well as the wonderful breakfasts. The staff are always very helpful. We find this a very relaxing place to spend some “down time” and plan to keep coming back!

We've stayed at many inns, and quite simply, the Inn at Stockbridge is one of the very best. The rooms are unique, well pictured online, comfortable and very clean. The A/C works well on hot days and the windows open for cool evening breezes. The public rooms are lovely. Breakfast is copious and delicious. The coffee/espresso machine is available 24/7. The pool is refreshing and there are sunny and shady areas. Most importantly, Gary and Nicole are caring hosts. We've stayed many times and are always happy to return.

Terrific spot. Pastoral and tranquill grounds. Lovely hosts. Great breakfasts. We’ve stayed in most of the Inns close to Tanglewood over the years and this one is a favorite. Everything we want from a stay in the Berkshires.

We enjoyed 2 relaxing nights at this charming Inn, in the Blagdon room, located on the 2nd floor of the main house. Rooms also are located in the cottage and barn, behind the main house. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean and airy (4 windows allowed lots of natural light in). Bedding felt luxurious. It had a fireplace, mini-fridge, 2 robes, coffeemaker. Bathroom was updated and had a nice shower. The house and grounds (6 acres, I believe) are lovely and well-maintained. A large outdoor pool, small but well-equipped fitness room, massage area, and various outdoor gathering spots round out the property. Due to its location near a highway, we could hear highway traffic at times, but it did not impact our sleep. Light sleepers potentially could be impacted. Breakfast during our stay was served from 8:30 to 10:30. The food was good and dietary issues, mentioned ahead of time, were accommodated without fuss. Seating for breakfast is comprised of small tables, which I prefer over one large communal table. I enjoyed the cappuccino’s that the fancy coffee machine made. Finally, Inn was conveniently located for visits to towns of Stockbridge & Great Barrington, Edith Wharton’s The Mount, Barrington Stage Company performance, Norman Rockwell Museum and Monument Mountain hike.

I visited for a girls' weekend getaway, and it was absolutely perfect. The Inn is beautifully decorated and the property felt like a peaceful retreat right away. The bar is charming, with curated cocktails and an excellent wine selection. I stayed in the Fountain Room, which featured the most incredible bathtub. The grounds are beautiful, quiet, and filled with spots to sit outside, read, and enjoy nature. I loved relaxing on the deck and listening to the soothing sound of the fountain nearby. I had a massage in the on-site massage room before spending time by the pool. The entire experience was exactly what I needed to recharge and escape a busy work schedule. And the breakfast!! Outstanding. Each day there was a special - the first morning was Eggs Benedict with a fresh side salad, and the second morning was a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. Both breakfasts came with coffee, fresh fruit, and homemade scones. It loved the option of having a delicious hot meal on site and included! I also got to chat and catch up with the other guests staying on property. This is the perfect getaway in the Berkshires! I can't wait to return.

Not often that my expectations are exceeded. The inn was so comfortable. The bed was amazing and I’m still thinking about it. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the service was outstanding. Happened upon this inn by accident just looking for a way stop on our drive and we wished we could have stayed longer!!! Did I mention the heated toilet seat… who knew!!

The last time I had a breakfast this good was also here at the Inn. Amazing. And the only thing warmer than the cookies at check in (yeah, warm cookies at check in) was the general vibe/hospitality. Nicole and Gary are beyond sweet, available/attentive and knowledgeable about the area. My room was clean, comfy, good water pressure and warm cookies. Look for my other review in their guest book in the reception area. It's right by the warm cookies.

DONT BOTHER!!!! Inn now run by a couple since 2023. Couple is unfriendly, never around during the day or evening, and they do everything by text only. Breakfast not good. Place 200 yards from Mass Pike. LOUD!!!!! Don’t waste your hard earned money. They don’t deserve it.
Response from Property: Thank you for your feedback. We have conducted a thorough search of our reservation records from 2023 to the present and are unable to locate a stay under the name 'Ralph W.' or any details corresponding to the experience described. As a small, family owned and operated Inn, we are on site daily and remain deeply committed to the well being of our guests. Because we are a family with a small child, we aren't always able to be at the Inn 24/7; however, we provide all visitors with direct text access to ensure any concerns are addressed immediately, and we typically have staff on site during those times we are away. Given the lack of a matching reservation, we have requested that TripAdvisor verify the authenticity of this review. Should there be a misunderstanding regarding the name on the booking, or if you have the reservation number, we invite you to contact us directly to discuss this further.

Room, location and breakfast were ok but the property offered none of the warmth and welcoming hospitality you would expect from a small country inn.
Response from Property: Thank you for your feedback regarding our rooms and breakfast. We are pleased to hear those aspects of your stay met your expectations. As a family run business, we strive to offer a professional and attentive experience, and we’re sorry to hear that our style of hospitality didn't meet your personal expectations. While we don't identify as a traditional country inn, we are on site daily and committed to the comfort of our guests always remaining available via text or in person for any needs. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your stay further if you wish to reach out directly.

This was our second stay at the inn. We will be back. This is a nice inn. Rooms are spread between three buildings; we have stayed in the Main House each time. This year, we were in the Blagdon Room, which we loved. Our room had its own heat pump. We stayed for a long Labor Day Weekend. We needed cooling during some days, and heat at night. It was great having the flexibility to set it ourselves. The breakfasts are great. There’s a special each day, or they’ll make eggs to order. We appreciate the 7x24 fresh-ground coffee machine. Lots of places to relax outside the room… at the main house, there’s the “lounge” (living room), a front porch, a back patio, and enclosed porch. We often spend some time in the living room reading in the evening. The owners and the staff are very helpful. In addition to Gary and Nicole, Sherry was terrific. They go out of their way to help. We encountered one issue on this stay; they resolved it promptly, and made it clear how much we were valued. Finally, the location is very convenient. Stockbridge, Lee, and Lenox are all a short drive away; West Stockbridge, Great Barrington, and Pittsfield are also easy to get to. And (if like us) you’re a fan of Tanglewood, the slightly-less-busy Lions Gate lot is a 9-minute drive, and the busier main lot is only a couple minutes more. As I said, we’ll be back.

This inn is truly a work of art. The interior common areas and private rooms are beautifully appointed. Everything is done very tastefully. The grounds are similarly beautiful. In spite of the proximity to the freeway, our room was very quiet.
Response from Property: Thank you so much for your review!

My husband and I chose Inn at Stockbridge for our getaway to the Berkshires based on all the many positive reviews. The Inn itself, our room, and the property is very nice. It’s a beautiful setting. Where our experience is different from the many reviews I’ve seen has to do with the innkeeper himself who greeted guests each morning at breakfast to ask how everything was going, how was the room, etc. The first morning, I asked if housekeeping would sweep or vacuum the room as it had rained and we had tracked in some debris. He said that they would tidy the room. I asked if that meant a quick sweep of the floors because in the info they had given us, it said tidying meant replenishing towels, making the bed and taking out trash. So I thought my request might be something they don't typically do. But he repeated that they would “tidy”it. I then asked if “tidy” meant sweep or vacuum. And guess what? He replied, they will “tidy” it. My question was pretty simple. His response was off~putting. Housekeeping did clean the floors for us and our room was always well~cleaned. No issues there. So why the cagey response from the innkeeper? I have to add that during breakfast another morning, he went from table to table, asking how things were, and we heard him dismiss what seemed to us to be simple enough issues that a guest might raise. I think when you stay at an inn like this, you have the expectation that the innkeeper will be attentive and hospitable not defensive and offputting. One more issue…. In several places, the Inn says that because they have a liquor license, you can’t bring liquor into your room or on the premises. Fair enough. Those are house rules. During our three night stay though, the bar was not open at all. We came back to the inn on a Friday night, and theBar/lounge was closed.i never saw it open. So why so many references in their materials to their on-site bar if it’s not open? They do have an afternoon cheese and crackers in the bar where you can enjoy complimentary cheese with, I assume, the purchase of a drink but those are limited hours. And lastly, one thing to know if you go in summer and want to enjoy the pool, this inn is sited very close to the Massachusetts turnpike. It is loud when you’re relaxing by the pool. We heard the turnpike noise from our room in the Barn as well.. Look on a map to see the inn’s proximity to the turnpike if you think this might be an issue for you.
Response from Property: Thank you for your feedback. As you mentioned, our housekeeping team promptly cleaned the entryway floors, which had become dirty due to the rainy weather and the presence of your two large dogs. Regarding our bar, it was indeed open during your stay, including during our complimentary cheese and crackers social hour. As a small property, our bar operates with limited hours, but we do strive to make our offerings accessible. In-room drink and snack menus were provided, and beverages were available upon request. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future under better circumstances.
