Very old hotel, it is the stairs when you enter the door, you have to carry the luggage! There is a staircase in our room and I have checked my luggage twice! The hotel is very old and Swedish feels. My partner and I tacked on some vacation time in Stockholm in advance of a work trip. We chose this hotel due to the location and ratings. We were extremely impressed with the amenities, utilized the sauna/cold plunge spa, and the decently appointed gym. We ended up getting in very early and were provided a room immediately. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We don't have a single negative thing to say about our stay. The only improvement would be better pillows, but that's just personal preference. The location is fantastic and there is much to see within a short walk. The National Museum is right across the harbor, church, Nobel Prize museum, Royal House, Parliament building, etc. You can walk about 20 minutes to the Vasa Museum, and the others in that area. Public transit is very accessible, even the ferries. 10/10 would recommend.

Stayed 3 nights, family vacation. I do NOT recommend this hotel to others! Noise from street at night (street cleaning, trash truck etc several times, each night) so we slept terribly every night. Extra bed for 3rd person was very hard/uncomfortable. During breakfasts, the staff was hustling and making lots of noise by setting up for lunch (which started as late as 1.5 hrs after breakfast was over!) and did not allow guest to sit where they wanted in breakfast room - not a nice experience at all. Questionable room cleaning: no spare cups, cleaner said cups in rooms were only hand washed in bathroom sinks by cleaners, and they did not seem clean. We had to hunt down towels and toilet paper, plus they had forgotten to supply bed and towels for third person in room upon arrival. Front desk staff generally not so service minded + not understanding/interested in being helpful - did not allow us to eat a sandwich in the lobby before departure ”because the hotel has a restaurant” - which did not open until 3 hrs later(!) Note 1: Short opening hrs for restaurant by lobby. Note 2: They do not control which person removes what luggage from luggage storage, so anyone could take what they want. Note 3: Fridge in (our) room was super tiny, with depth as narrow as a water bottle. Note 4: They might not pay attention: When booking, I sent a request + a question to the hotel; request was not taken into account and I received no answer to question. Location: Good area to stay in for family trip if want to include shopping, easy access to public transportation, walking distance to Gamla Stan and more. But would recommend other hotel in area, not this one. Overall: Not the hotel experience I expected from photos, info on hotel web site and prize. Will not return, and recommend the hotel to reevaluate some of its routines!

The location of this place is exceptional. It is located on the top of Stockholm Central Station, so tram, trains and Airport (Arlanda) Express are all right there. The hotel is modern and located centrally with great restaurants and other attractions. Yes, it is not in Gamla Stan, but we walked there easily, about 25 minutes. This place has all the shopping areas nearby as well. The rooms are way too small. It was just impossible for the 3 of us (Adults) and I wish there were bigger rooms. The breakfast is also good, (again, it grades only a 3.8 or 3.9 out 5 because, have stayed in other Scandinavian hotels where the breakfast was just too good [in the range of 4.5 to 4.8]). The hotel also loans bicycles to their guests and it is first come first served, which is very good. Hotel service staff are okay. I would stay here for the location and convenience, and around this area, this is one of the best. If willing to compromise on the location, then there may be other hotels that are better. Not sure.

We booked at internet 2 standard rooms, queen bed, 4 nights. When we arrived, we have got 2 little spaces, 12m, under the roof in the attic. In half the room, you could not stand up under the roof. The bed was 1.40x1,9 m, only accessible at 1 side, no ponde in the front because off lac of hight. The head of the shower was max at 1,75 m, also because of the roof, in a bathroom of 2x1 m. To open the window i had to climb on the chair to reach the lock. And this space was rented to us as a room for 2 persons. At night , al night, there was the noise of running water in the pipes of the heating and the whooshing of al the ventilation pipes on the roof. We tried to sleep there for 1 night, impossible. Next morning we demanded to see someone from the management to complain but no one was available. Then they offered us 2 other rooms, on the second floor, same size of bed, a little larger, a lot higher, same price and our problem was solved. Why do they try to rent such little spaces in the attic as standard double rooms? If they had given us the right rooms the first day, our visit would have been perfect.

This hotel was situated about 15 minutes from the centre of Stockholm (a number 7 tram/bus took us from the Central Station in the Centre to right outside the Hotel). We went to Stockholm to visit the ABBA museum which was absolutely wonderful! We spent about 2 hours in the museum and it was so interesting and great fun. The rooms were very retro and nicely decorated. Beds were super comfy and the bathroom was clean with a very good shower. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with so much choice. You could order a hot option which was cooked freshly.

We visited Stockholm for the first time at the end of May. It was always a place we wanted to visit but had never got round to it. When Duran Duran announced they were touring again and were playing in Skansen we had to go. We did some research about which hotels were close to the concert and Hotel Hasselbacken was the closest and had great reviews. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Stockholm was a wonderful place to visit despite the somewhat rainy weather. We were welcomed to the hotel after a long day travelling and it had a very shabby chic, art deco classy feel to it. It was vibrant but still had nice personal touches like free coffee and fresh fruit in reception. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was lovely and comfortable. We only had breakfast at the hotel but that was very nicely presented and plentiful with great choices available. The location of the hotel was perfect. My wife and I love exercising and used the hotel gym and took advantage of the fantastic scenic park routes right outside the hotel door. While we didn't have our children with us Skansen was obviously a great place to take kids of all ages with museums, parks and fun fairs. We would highly recommend Hotel Hasselbacken and would definitely book again if we are lucky enough to go back. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a fantastic stay.

Absolutely lovely experience! The location is perfect and very central with easy access to central station, Norrmalm and the old town. On the same island as the boat you also have the Modern Museum and the East Asian Antiquities Museum - both worth checking out. Lovely to sleep on the ship, even for a mixed bed room hostel - the showers and bathrooms were plentiful and functional. The breakfast is also totally worth getting as it’s a buffet for 120SEK and will fill you up for several hours. It costs almost 70-80SEK to get a sandwich anywhere else and 50SEK for a coffee so definitely value for money to get the hotel breakfast.

We booked a superior room here and let me tell you, it was very disappointing and not what we expected. At first, the lobby seemed nice, but upon closer inspection you could see various moldy and dirty spots on the ceiling and that the carpet is quite dirty as well. Overall, the hotel has probably had its best days and you can see it. After checking in, we were a bit shocked by our room. The furniture is old and has cracks and scratches basically everywhere, there were weird stains on our desk, and the floor was scratched all over. The bathroom had moldy spots in the corner of the shower, later we realized that the shower door did not completely close so that the bathroom overflowed every time we took a shower. We immediately complained about this to the staff and were shown another room but it was the same there, plus the room was even smaller and we were not offered any kind of discount, not even an apology. The bathroom has only glass walls, with a very thin, white curtain in front of it, so that you have basically no privacy. A wooden slide door which was very hard to slide since it got stuck every couple of inches at least blocks a bit of the view but even as a couple I think you like a bit of privacy in the bathroom. We did not have a plug in our sink so that we had to look down a dirty drain, and the plug we were given as an extra one was too big so that the water could not flow. Upon closer inspection we saw that the window was moldy and not cleaned in a long time, and shortly before leaving after three nights we were shocked to see that the mini bar had opened candy in it - we did not touch the minibar since we felt it was completely overpriced and obviously, nobody from the cleaning staff had touched it in a long time either. The breakfast was okay on the weekend, but could have been better on Monday (there were no eggs due to salmonella outbreaks but at least some pancakes on the weekend, none on Monday and in general the quality was a bit worse on Monday). The staff was nice, not overly friendly but not impolite. The only good thing about the hotel is probably its location, which however makes it quite noisy at night, and I am convinced you can find better hotels in this price range in similarly central locations in Stockholm. We would not come back here and cannot recommend this hotel.

At the price I paid, I was a bit sceptical about this place until I checked in. But this was a sweet surprise. Built out of a historic building and on the fringe of Gamla stan this is an absolute steal and a hidden gem LOCATION: Located on the island of Gamla stan and easily walkable from all key points of interest DINE + DRINK: Free Coffee and refreshments are available at the lobby level all day long for guests. Ws quite surprised by the Excellent breakfast served at the restaurant. The spread was amazing and had everything from delicious pastries to gourmet Pies. Not the usual boring stuff! And they also accommodated all kinds of dietary preferences, including Vegan! ROOM: I stayed in Room 507, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Random view of the building next door; SIZE: Very compact room, but good enough for 2 adults; AIR-CON: No Air conditioner, and can get pretty warm on hot days; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good quality cosmetics FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines, which is a super rarity in the old town. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made me feel at home and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Low-speed Wi-Fi(up to 10 Mbps) that works well all over the property. Loved this hotel!! Sofia was amazing and helped me when I got in and on my way out. While there Marie was also helpful! I was lucky enough that my room was ready before 3pm (check-in) and they let me in to change etc!!! Just a 10 minute walk from the Express Arlanda station, taxi ride if you have big luggage. ONLY 5 minute walk to the pier and many of the touristic options of boats and hop-on-off boats and buses there! The room was big enough for me because I was traveling by myself. With a big tv for nights in, room 14 has a huge bathroom if you don't mind having no windows and I didn't because I was mostly out and it's better for sleeping 🥳. Having two supermarkets within 5 minutes walking was great if you need something. The big church 3 minutes away has a coffee shop that is very good for relaxing in the patio area. There are always scooters and bicycles around to use in front or nearby. Come and enjoy this lovely city! The room has a small hair dryer, a kettle (coffee and tea), a huge tv, and very comfortable bed/sheets and towels. They offer liquid soap/shampoo in the shower and sink.
