Booked for one night as a business trip. Noted it had a restaurant (2*AA Rosette), breakfast included and the sales pitch sounded perfect. That’s far from reality. Mid afternoon I received a call to inform me that nobody would be at the Hotel that evening. When questioned it appears this is normal, and reading between the lines it’s an Air BnB in disguise. I had to let myself in to a place I have never been before, headed for the most expensive room I could book (the bridal suite) to find a small room, with a four poster bed and tiny bathroom. Positives Bed was comfy, slept well, no noise (I did have the whole place to myself) and an iron was provided in the room. Negatives Bathroom was filthy with black/orange mould all around the shower. Sink wouldn’t drain. There was no restaurant. There was no full English breakfast, I was given two ‘7-Day) croissants in a packet in my room and when they called me pre-stay said there was dry Cornflakes down stairs (no milk provided). Nobody was there to great you or deal with any issues. When sat on the loo, no room for your legs as radiator in the way. Window vents were missing. I wasn’t convinced the fire alarm was active as the detector in room would normally flash periodically with a red light. It didn’t! All in very disappointing, not worth the money and during my whole stay saw nobody at all and expected to lock up afterwards. Better options nearby for same price and best to stay away sadly!

The experience was positive and presented value for money. Room was large, clean and well equipped. Kitchen had everything one would want from. Highly recommended for this type of accommodation. If there is any complaint it is the noise of the passing by of cars.

What a beautiful place is all I can say came for an overnight stay and ended up spending a week here. Staff can't do enough for you to ensure your stay is comfortable enough. Clean, fresh and housed in a beautiful setting. I have no issues what so ever about my stay here in fact I am sad to leave. I will be back again and again my favourite place yet and I have stayed at a few top places. This is my top place what you get for 80 a night I think is an insult for all we get when a travel lodge is 130 a night and you can't even open the window. I have a beautiful garden as soon as I open the door to the room in the cottage we had. Its just criminal that it is soooooo cheap, beautiful products provided and again offered bread and milk every day. Absolutely 10 out of 10 for every factor of a hotel stay. Lisa, ash and Anne what excellent service and staff Thank you

Stayed one night whilst travelling back from week in N Wales and had a 'stop-over' visiting son who lives in Kidderminster. I had a room in the Villa which is a 'self-serve' unit of 5 rooms. Recently refurbished to a nice standard. Room was comfortable but basic - think Travelodge - but no information on wi-fi code or check out times. No phone in the room for emergencies or to contact staff if needed. The breakfast facility was more like a hostel and not what I expected. It was nicely furnished and obviously brand new but still a communal facility with 'help yourself' cereal and sliced bread in opened plastic bags. Jars of jam (opened) and a sink full of dirty dishes. I passed. I knew that the hotel has recently changed hands but not sure what it is trying to be. Reception only staffed 2pm-8pm and no other staff around. As a lone female traveller I was a little unnerved to be told that there were 3 other male guests staying in the Villa with me - I didn't see them - but guessed they had left the dishes in the sink. I am all for giving the place a chance to 'find its feet' but I won't stay here next time I visit. With Hogarth Stone Manor down the road, this hotel needs to decide on an 'identity' quickly and grow into it if it is going to survive. I know it was once a lovely venue and Covid has taken its toll on businesses which is why I have tried to be fair in my review

This should not be classed as a hotel. It is more like an Air B & B with no reception or service. Keys are collected from a deposit box via a code. Their website does not make it clear that the restaurant is closed and meals are available at the local pub. No breakfast service. Said we would check in about 3.30pm and they were ringing us at 3.45 asking where we were because they had to leave at 4.00. This is when we discovered about the key collection system. Disappointing after our previous stay when the restaurant was open. My wife was bitten in the night by what may have been a bedbug.

Booking was easy and location perfect for visiting various places . Room was lovely and clean with excellent tea and coffee and bottle water which was much needed after a day of exploring . Lovely welcome at the door and made to feel very welcome . Would definitely stay again . Well done on all for making our stay so brilliant xx
