A famous Chinese restruant is adjacent to it. It's very delicious. Nice trip.

Good location close to everything you need and want to visit in Stone Town. We also organised a boat trip to Prison island which was well organised. Breakfast is ok and the pool is clean and not too small, if you don´t mind swimming in the middle of everything and just beside the restaurant. However, I cannot recommend the restaurant for dinner as we waited a long time and there are much better restaurants close by. Our room was in another building very close to the hotel, clean enough but needs some updates. There is supposed to some some kind of kitchen, but that is not the case - no cutlery and the water heater did not work. Daily cleaning is provided and the also do anti-mosquito spraying every evening.

Such a lovely hotel for a very affordable price. Located in the city center next to those winding shopping streets, very stylish with the vintage furniture on the inside and incredibly helpful staff!

Pros: - Centrally located - Good architecture and interiors - Decent breakfast spread Cons: - Extremely poor service - Room was shabby and unclean - Electricity went off twice in the night when we were asleep. Had to go down to the reception at 4 AM and ask the staff to fix it, as the phone in the room did not work. Again, it went off around 7 AM

Fabulous location. I enjoyed seeing all the curated old artifacts and reading up on the 500 year history of the place. The people were wonderful. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was modern and clean. I’d stay there again.

The hotel's location is good, in Stone Town, convenient for getting around. The room was a special offer, in a side building, quite small, and without an elevator. Service was average. These are all acceptable. The most outrageous thing was that the hotel fan snapped the mosquito net off at night! Then the metal chain connecting the net was also torn off! It was very dangerous when it was thrown out. We immediately called the front desk to explain the situation, but they just sent someone to remove the net. The next day at checkout, we told the front desk again. They just gave a perfunctory "sorry." No compensation was offered, and no explanation was given! I will never stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

The location is good. The presidential suite is very beautiful. BUT: 1. Upon check-in, they tried to upgrade us to a regular suite (it's right next to the presidential suite) instead of the one we reserved. They probably hoped we wouldn't notice. 2. We paid the city tax upon check-in. Then, upon check-out, they started asking us to pay it again. They need to get their payment records in order. 3. The breakfast was average, nothing special.

Very nice house, or classical architecture like a museum, very quiet and comfortable, I highly recommend

We stayed at the hotel. We stayed in room 224. There was a strong smell of damp in the room. Everything else was fine.
