Holiday Inn Express & Suites STROUDSBURG-POCONOS by IHG

When we came back from the water park we noticed the reader had actually fallen off our door and I took it downstairs to the front desk. She took the piece that had fallen off the door and taped it to a piece of paper and wrote a note on it. I asked her if it would affect us getting in and out of our room and if I would’ve be charged for something that was already damaged, she expressed that it wouldn’t and appeared to be annoyed by my questioning. However, when we left out for breakfast the next morning, the door locked behind us and we were unable to get back in. The reader was not working. The master key couldn’t even get us into our room either. For almost 2 hours we waited in the hallway with Patricia and Ralph as he used a crow bar and other tools to get into the room. We were unable to utilize the pool before we left because it was too close to check out once we were granted access to our room. Patricia and Ralph were the most positive experience of this whole trip but overall a lot of time was wasted and we weren’t treated fairly. I have pictures and videos of everything listed.

Front desk staff was great upon arrival. At 730am we were woken by maintenance hammering outside our room and being very loud. My wife and I got in very late but could not sleep in!

We had construction going on over our heads with drilling and loud noises. Very unpleasant.

There was a whole lot of noise coming from the room above me jumping around and stomping I complained a few times and nothing was done this is not the only time this happen on my stay here I think ppl with children should stay on the first floor or find another solution and I notice there was mold in the ceiling in the bathroom

Hotel: Holiday Inn Pocono Check-in date: December 3 Check-in time: around 5:00 PM Booking platform: ******* Issue: Indoor pool not working / misinformation / refusal to compensate We checked in to Holiday Inn Pocono on December 3 at approximately 5:00 PM. Before checking in, I specifically asked the front desk staff whether the indoor pool was available and operational, as this was a critical factor for our stay due to children. The front desk agent clearly confirmed that: • the hotel has an indoor pool, • it is indoor, • and it is working. Immediately after check-in, we went to the pool area and discovered that the pool was not usable at all. The water was extremely cold and not heated, making swimming impossible. Other guests with a child were also present and unable to use the pool for the same reason. A hotel employee who introduced himself as Jacob attempted to fix the issue and repeatedly assured us the pool would be ready: • first in “10 minutes,” • then “20 minutes,” • then “30 minutes.” We waited until approximately 8:30–9:00 PM, but the pool was never fixed, despite multiple promises. The pool closes at 10:00 PM, meaning the service was never provided during our stay. I requested a refund at the front desk due to the non-functioning and misrepresented amenity. The staff refused and stated that since the booking was made through *******, I had to contact ******* directly. The hotel refused to take responsibility, despite: • providing false information

Upon arrival, there was a line of people waiting to check in. The front desk was clearly understaffed, and the lone greeter was grumpy and unfriendly. And she didn't set up our door cards properly so that we had to go back to the front desk for get them properly set up.

Everything was great, it was clean the room was big, staff friendly, this would easily be a 5 star if the people staying on top of us didn’t have their children running and stomping all night all day, I couldn’t sleep and was sooo tired when I checked out

Friendly staff; however, the pool water temperature is cold and not ideal. Very poor sound insulation. Make sure you don’t get an end room, as there is an HVAC unit at the end of the corridor. It turns on from time to time and sounds like drilling through the wall from next door all night long.
