Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin

Stuttgart-Mitte Stuttgart|0.53km from Oberer Schlossgarten
Due to the pandemic we had to cancel other New Year's Eve plans and chose to stay a bit closer to home. This was an excellent choice! Unfortunately I can't attest to the salon, spa, or pool (all are off our to-do list until Germany's numbers are down), but everything else about this hotel was amazing. Everyone spoke excellent English, were very accommodating, and the restaurant requires a review all its' own (magnificent!!). If we had to find anything that didn't deserve a five-star rating, it would be the streaming service (lost Netflix connection frequently), however, everything else at this hotel made up for that. You couldn't ask for a better location; it's across the street from the Hauptbahnhof, and one block away from more shopping than you can do in a day! Every hotel in the world should offer an ”Olaf”! Olaf is the most outstanding of this hotel's very service-oriented staff; he is everywhere you need him to be right when you need him there!! If we owned a hotel chain, we would be trying to hire him away from the Graf Zeppelin - he's that good!! This hotel also has an elegant cigar bar. Although I'm not into cigars, it's so elegant that I did not mind accompanying my husband there. My husband's exact words were ”this place has the very best cigars I've ever tried, and an exquisite class of whiskey!” And thanks to Olaf, our preferred table was reserved in the restaurant and in the cigar bar every evening; We will definitely return to this hotel! Oh, I forgot to mention.......we've traveled a lot and have been in a lot of hotels; this was the first that offered a WALK-IN closet with ample storage storage! The two sinks in the bathroom, both a tub AND a shower were also a plus....comforts of home! (We were in a junior suite)

Motel One Stuttgart-Mitte

Stuttgart-Mitte Stuttgart|0.46km from Oberer Schlossgarten
First of all the location is very good. It's in the middle of everything. Parking garage next door, and more or less located at the main train station. Room is a standard Motel One room, but I would say it could need some proper carpet cleaning, as there are huge stains in the hallway, and also our room. I was simply not impressed with the service level of the staff at this Stuttgart hotel. Check in agent did not make we feel welcome at all. He could not find my reservation in the system, and that was my problem, even though I tried to show him the motel one app. Not a good first impression. When I later went down to reception due to some issues with the aircon in our room, the help I got was simply so rude and the same agent did not care at all that I had a room too hot to be in. We finally figured out the system after google helped us, still too warm a room for my liking, but better. Apparently there is a winter and summer setting. We got only the winter setting. The check in agent also told us that breakfast could be purchased in the morning. When we tried to do so, we were told that breakfast was full, and we could try back in an hour again. I understand all the covid restrictions, but information is the key here. Nice if we had been told, or if there was a letter in the room, or a poster at the breafast, or anything really. so location is great, the room ok, but staff and flow of information needs improvement.

The staff at this hotel are amazing! You can tell they genuinely love their jobs and are just meant to be in hospitality. Two extraordinary individuals stuck out to my family and I - Sarina merz - front desk and Sophia Armandine - host. Thank you for the excellent Germany experience and warm hospitality daily. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Aloft Stuttgart

We had preciously stayed at the Aloft in Munich, and were impressed enough to choose the Aloft chain again for a recent short visit to Stuttgart. We were not disappointed. The hotel is conveniently located a few steps from the UBahn (one stop from the Hauptbahnhof and a couple of stops away from the main centre) and is part of a new shopping complex with a range of stores and eating outlets. Facilities are modern, clean and well appointed, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. We were especially impressed with the helpfulness of the reception staff, all of whom went out of their way to look after our needs. One of our party was without vital medication, and hotel reception took the trouble both to identify the best local medical centre to obtain a prescription and to give detailed directions for finding it. We would certainly stay here again for future visits to the city.

This hotel has two advantages: location, breakfast; that's why I'm back. But this trip to Derry, it's a pity it's not going to be very good. Most importantly, there was a middle-aged, short man with eyes on the counter. I thought he had a bit of racial slur (he would joke about your English), and we should treat travelers kindly, let alone pay for them. I think it's a pity that a good hotel, a good trip, will disappoint and sad, even the luster of breakfast dim. I'm sorry to say I won't go to a racist restaurant again.
Hotel Astoria Stuttgart City

The best thing about the Astoria is really the location, right in the city centre on Hospitalstrasse. One of my favourite places to stay when in Stuttgart it is very central to all the main attractions in the city and close enough to rail tram bus links.. its always a pleasure to stay when I'm on town.... I always recommend highly when anyone I know come to visit..
Pension am Heusteig

A lovely little Pension abut 10 minutes' walk from the city centre, and in easy reach of various U-bahn stops. The surrounding Bohnviertel (bean quarter) i delightful, with plenty of shops and character. It is reasonably priced, the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the room was good, clean and warm. The breakfast buffet was varied and tasty. It's a shame that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, as I would have loved a cup of tea after strolling round Stuttgart. that aide, I would recommend this place whole-heartedly.

We booked this hotel with booking.com, we went to the car so we chose a hotel that had also parking nearby. As soon as we arrived (5 p.m.) we found no one at the reception, we had not been told that we should have checked in automatic after 14 p.m. We called the number that was written on the door and we were told how we should do. Then we thought about the payment of the parking that was just in front of the hotel and, found the payment column we tried to pay (€ 10.30 for the whole day). The parking meter did not accept either the bankomat card or the credit card , we could not even pay cash because we did not have all those coins (he did not even accept the banknotes), so we called the receiving service who told us that the parking was not them and he did not even know how to solve the problem. My problem: at last we asked the reception of another hotel nearby if we could change 10 euros in coins and fortunately they did. After 5 gg from our stay I receive a mail where I am informed that the reception is not available after 14:00 and check in is to be made automatically with the outdoor car and also that the parking there front costs 10.30 per day but The hotel is a hotel that is located 150 m from the hotel and is parked in another hotel with 8 euros per day. Then I wonder : but I have to have all this valuable information when I've already returned from my trip??? And then, he couldn't tell me at the telephone the receptionist that there was another parking nearby??? !!!! I'm really angry and disappointed! The organisation is bad! To not talk about the receptionist's zero availability. The rest would also be possible if it was not for the little room space, but it will certainly not be the reason that will not make me return there again.
