Suining Marriott Hotel

The hotel boasts stunning views, and the Chinese restaurant serves fantastic food. Overall, the service is incredibly warm and welcoming. The environment, facilities, and cleanliness are all excellent. I'm a light sleeper, and the bedding was very comfortable. The air conditioning was quiet, had no strange odors, and the temperature control was perfect for a good night's sleep, which I really appreciated. Whenever I pass through Suining, I always make sure to stay here.

This was by far the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to see the rock carvings and historical sites in Sichuan and Chongqing. I initially hesitated because it opened in 2019 (I usually prefer newer hotels), but the facilities and maintenance were excellent, easily comparable to hotels opened in the last two years. The environment was fantastic. It's located near a park on an island, with high greenery coverage and a quiet atmosphere. The night view was beautiful, and there's even a cruise pier nearby. The staff were wonderful – friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They even mailed a charger I left behind back to Beijing, and it arrived two days before I did, which I really appreciate! The breakfast was the only one on my trip that met the average standard of a 5-star hotel buffet. My friend and I were both very satisfied. And what's more, the hotel has a deer park! [amazed][amazed][amazed] After dinner, during our evening stroll, we saw the little fawns peering at us through the fence. The next morning, after breakfast, we went there and had the entire clean deer park to ourselves. A staff member even showed us the newly born 'kindergarten' fawns and a cute little one that was just 5 days old after a difficult birth. Thank you so much! [heart] It totally made our day right from the start. This is the only hotel I'd want to revisit, mainly for the little deer! [smiley face]

Room: Nothing to say, it was great. Service: Average, nothing special. No upgrades or complimentary items, and no feeling of being welcomed. Everyone seemed to have a cold expression, probably because it was too hot. Amenities: Regarding the water park, I suggest they stop including it as an amenity. We bought a package that included tickets, but when we went, it was impossible to even get in. It was packed with people, so we went in and immediately came out. A complete waste of money. Transportation: We drove there ourselves. There wasn't much to eat on the island, so if we wanted good food, we had to drive out. Deer Park: The best value of the whole trip. We spent sixty [yuan/local currency] for two bottles of milk and one feeding session, and had close contact with the deer for over ten minutes. If you want to feed them, make sure to ask in advance what time the feeding starts. On that day, my child was the only one who got to feed them, making all the other friends incredibly envious. The experience was the best!

Here's the bottom line: If you're driving from Chengdu, it's worth a visit. Pros: The water park, despite being crowded, has plenty of fun activities that my kids loved. If you're staying at the hotel, you can go a bit later in the day to avoid the scorching sun. The deer interaction was great. Breakfast offered a good variety. Cons: Management definitely needs improvement. For instance, cars from the water park took up all the parking spots, both underground and above ground, leaving no reserved parking for hotel guests. This meant nowhere for us to park. For the complimentary go-kart tickets, only one go-kart had power, so even with just three kids, we had to wait in line. Our initial room's air conditioning wasn't working, but they quickly moved us to another room. Overall, the hotel's location and facilities are decent. While management could be better, the staff provided excellent service, and the hotel was affordably priced. It's a good option for a weekend trip to Suining – much better than staying home for two days.

The Suining Marriott Executive Apartments boast an excellent location right on ShengLian Island, offering a very comfortable and relaxing environment. Both the island and the hotel are well-equipped with facilities. The hotel's hygiene is top-notch, meeting Marriott's high standards, and the overall ambiance is great. It's conveniently located next to a water park, and by booking the right room package, you can get complimentary admission tickets for two adults and one child. The surrounding area also offers other entertainment options like stargazing camps and fruit-picking orchards. The front desk was helpful in upgrading my room and granting a late check-out. The only area that could use improvement is the service and organization in the breakfast restaurant, especially during peak times. Perhaps because it was a weekend and a bit crowded, the breakfast service couldn't keep up. There was no one to seat guests, so we had to find our own tables. Sometimes, even after finding a table, it hadn't been cleared from the previous guests. Once a table was vacated, it seemed no one reset it, and we occasionally had to get cutlery from other tables. This is definitely an area where training could be enhanced. Otherwise, everything else was satisfactory.

This Marriott definitely deserves a shout-out! The hotel's hardware is top-notch, and its location on ShengLian Island is absolutely superb. The scenery is beautiful, and there are plenty of entertainment options, making it perfect for families with kids or seniors. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep in the quiet surroundings. The only downside is that there are often many tour groups, which makes breakfast quite crowded.

The location was fantastic! My main reason for visiting was to see the International Lotus Exhibition Park right next to the hotel. We'd had days of constant rain, but it actually stopped just after we checked in. Even better, as we entered the Lotus Park, the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine broke through, allowing us to capture some beautiful photos of the blooming lotuses. This was definitely the highlight of the trip, and I'm incredibly satisfied! 😌

The rooms are spacious and airy. It also features a deer park and a fruit-picking orchard, making it suitable for family vacations. However, the executive lounge has been closed for a long time, transportation on the island is inconvenient, and the service attention to detail is just average. With slightly aging facilities, it's more suited for leisure travel than business trips.
