Hotel Indigo is a quaint boutique hotel with both modern and traditional Santa Barbara touches. Its location couldn’t be more convenient, just a half block south of the train station on State Street. It’s a short walk to the beach in one direction and downtown in the other. From the moment I stepped into the fresh, bright, modern lobby I was greeted with warm smiles. There couldn’t have been a more welcoming introduction to my stay here. The staff was consistently available, professional, and friendly, ready with a sincere greeting every time I came and went. COVID precautions are taken seriously here and it was clear a lot of thought went into guest safety and comfort. My room was on the first floor with a private patio. The room makes the most of its small size with a clean, simple, minimalistic layout. Bright white walls expand the space while beautiful wood grain flooring and exposed brick on the patio side give it a historic feel befitting its location. The TV and air conditioning unit, both wall mounted, help keep the limited space open and uncluttered. The single closet/dresser/coffeemaker unit (a Keurig!) does likewise. Still, there was plenty of workspace with a large glass-topped desk and numerous outlets. A white noise generator was a pleasant surprise although the hotel was very quiet during my stay and it wasn’t really needed. The occasional train was not a bother. The European style bathroom is quite small as expected. The adjustable handheld shower is a delight. The highlight was the patio, large and well appointed with a wicker table and two cushioned chairs, surrounded by greenery and dark woods. What a delightful setting it was for coffee in the morning and late night snacks. I look forward to returning here in a few months. This property is truly a gem.

Hotel was very clean, and I have high standards! Staff was friendly and helpful. As another reviewer stated, this is not a luxury hotel, but it did provide very comfortable accommodations in a wonderful location near the beach in Santa Barbara. It even provided a covered parking spot for my car!

The location is particularly good, across the road is the sea, there are many yachts parked at the pier, there is free parking.

The hotel looks very well maintained. My room had a sofa and desk along with the king size bed. Big room for a hotel. The bathroom and sink area are alittle small, but very modern and tiled. The shower was excellent. The pool and jucuzzi were crystal clear and clean. Pretty big pool with a deep end of 8 ft. The location is about 8 minute drive to downtown, but there are several restaurants within walking distance. The area seems nice, don’t let the closed hotel next door scare you away.

The front desk is very strict. You must have a visa card to stay. At the restaurant at the door, I bought breakfast with breakfast. It used to mean breakfast deducted with $50. You can order it yourself. The restaurant is delicious The highlight is the pool, you will love the experience here....a large piece at hand. The pool is warm water. Breakfast is a typical Western breakfast, with cereal, bread, cake, coffee, simple but sufficient. The location of the hotel is superb. Go out and turn right and walk 3 minutes to the beach, and 5-6 minutes to the pier. The front desk service of the hotel is warm and thoughtful and very friendly, 24 hours a day, and I am very patient to call for consultation if something happens at night.

Staffs are courteous. Facilities are well maintained. Breakfast is excellent healthy and nutritious.. Room is spacious and comfortable. Bed is large and supportive for a good night sleep and rejuvenation. Location is convenient to local restaurants and beach. Santa Barbara is only 17 minutes drive away. Many Michelin starred restaurants in Santa Barbara but suggest you to make early reservation. Carpinteria has a nice star beach and the sunset in the horizon is romantic and beautiful according to your mood.

The room is large, the balcony has a sea view, breakfast service but charge, the hotel is warm, the building is Spanish style, the travel is very convenient, you can park, there is a bus at the door.
