Overall, my experience staying at the Suzhou Regency Hyatt was just “ok”. Which is a shame because I chose the Hyatt brand based on it’s standard of high service and quality. We told the hotel ahead of time that it was a special event for us but all that awaited us was a simple “swan” design set on the bed, in which almost every hotel in China does even without asking. In addition, there was a note left by the bed to give a 5 star review because of it. Later the next morning, as we were about to just jump into the 3F pool, we were informed to buy a swimming cap to swim. First off, I don’t mind the swimming cap rule as every hotel is different, but please inform your staff to remind guests before entering the pool area, not after the fact. At the end of the day, for the price we paid, there are many other hotel options around the same area that may give a better experience or service.
