Yujian Guisu Homestay (Suzhou Changmen Shantang Street)

Location: A very convenient prime location, right next to Shantang Street, perfect for a day trip encompassing Shantang Street, Xiyuan Temple, and Hanshan Temple. Facilities: The guesthouse is fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. Cleanliness: Cleanliness is somewhat average. The toilet had a foul odor, indicating it wasn't cleaned with toilet cleaner. The bed may have been damp and had a slight odor. Service: Check-in was very simple and convenient, without any issues. Overall, for under 100 RMB, staying near Shantang Street is quite worthwhile. However, it would be better if the room cleanliness could be improved. Providing earplugs would also be helpful, as the soundproofing is poor, and outside noise is clearly audible in the morning. Also, the hairdryer plug cannot be inserted into the wall socket.

The service was excellent, the environment was great, the location was convenient, and the hygiene was good. Overall, it was great. I would definitely come again if I had the chance. I wanted to extend my stay, but there were no rooms available, which exceeded my expectations.

This time I chose the tatami room. I felt the room size was just right. It's located in the old street next to Shantang Street (a five or six-minute walk from Shantang Street). There are still many locals living around the guesthouse, so the atmosphere is very lively. The bedding smelled nice, like laundry detergent. Check-in is basically self-service, which I really liked. The price is very reasonable.

The cleanliness was acceptable, but the room wasn't very soundproof. I could hear quite a bit of noise outside in the mornings and evenings, and the sound of the neighbor slamming their door in the middle of the night woke me up. Initially, the water provided in the room was leftover from the previous guest. After contacting the owner, they apologized and told me to get some fresh water, but the cabinet below was locked. The worst thing was that the air conditioner had a sour, foul smell when it was on; it must have been neglected for a long time. I didn't turn it on for two whole days.

I was so busy after getting back that I forgot to leave a review. I only remembered today and thought I had to share it with everyone. It's a fantastic guesthouse, with a great location near Shantang, and excellent value for money. The decor is superb! I'm thinking of staying there for several days in the future.

The room was quite small, located in a small alley. I found it after wandering around. I was too tired to change rooms, so I stayed one night. The window was right next to a garbage dump. The rooms opposite each other were also opposite each other. Everything else was self-service; the owner will add you on WeChat. The room's soundproofing was terrible; you could hear people walking and talking.

The room was on the first floor and very noisy. I could clearly hear electric bikes passing by at night. I've never stayed in a room that noisy before. The room was also very damp, and even with the air conditioner on, it didn't help.
