InterContinental Hotels SUZHOU by IHG

I've stayed at InterContinental Jinji Lake many times, and this time I chose it again. If I had to give a reason, it's simply because I feel comfortable and familiar with it. It was peak summer holiday season and a Saturday, so the hotel was very busy. Our room wasn't ready even by 3:30 PM. After a phone call, the front desk agent promptly upgraded our room, and I'm very grateful for that! Although the hotel is a bit older, both the public areas and the rooms are very well-maintained and don't show their age at all. We stayed in a suite, which was very spacious and incredibly comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and bedroom offered direct, first-rate views of Jinji Lake and the Ferris wheel. The dining experience at Jinhaixuan Restaurant on the 27th floor was excellent, with fantastic outdoor views and delicious dishes. The breakfast buffet quality was still great. My only minor regret this time was that, apart from the host, no one asked if I wanted tea or coffee. Perhaps they were too busy with all the guests and overlooked it? Overall, for me, the minor flaws don't detract from the overall excellent experience. I'll definitely choose to stay at InterContinental again next time I'm in Jinji Lake.

The experience was terrible from the moment I arrived. Parking was a hassle; the security guard was extremely unhelpful. Even though there were temporary parking spots on the ground level where I could have parked before moving to a permanent one, they refused to assist. When I ordered food delivery via the hotel robot, I had to sign an external delivery agreement, but even after signing, they wouldn't deliver it to the room. There was a whole process of verification and questioning. The front desk staff were unhelpful when checking whether the delivery agreement had been signed. For a high-end hotel, the service was completely lacking. Some of the pillowcases in the room were also damaged.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Jinji Lake. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The service was top-notch, special thanks to the concierge who was always responsive!

The hotel boasts an excellent location with convenient transportation access and an underground parking lot. Check-in was quick, and a staff member helped with our luggage. The room was clean, tidy, and odor-free, with all necessary amenities. The unbeatable lake view is sure to brighten your day. You can also walk directly to Jinji Lake for a stroll.

The surroundings are unbeatable. Just cross the street from the hotel and you're at Jinji Lake, and the location is excellent. Eslite Bookstore is right next to the hotel, which is super convenient. The hotel also houses a Michelin-starred restaurant, which is especially handy when the weather is hot.

Everything was great, especially the service, which made it truly worth the price. A big thanks to the GRO小姐姐 (Guest Relations Officer) for her full assistance throughout our stay. She was basically available whenever we needed her and helped us solve many problems. The hotel facilities were good too, and we even got a free upgrade to a lake view room. It's a shame we were in such a hurry when we left that we didn't get to properly enjoy it.

The environment and hygiene were excellent. When I went downstairs to get coffee, I saw the lobby manager meticulously cleaning a small stain on the floor with a cleaning agent. I also saw two cleaning staff, a man and a woman, discussing the best way to clean the edges of a trash can. These small details really touched me, and I was deeply impressed by the hotel's high standards for cleanliness. However, the in-room dining service was disappointing. I ordered seafood pasta for lunch, and the shrimp was clearly not fresh, even tasting bitter. The mussels were also very tough. I hope they can improve the quality of their ingredients.

We stayed mid-week, and the front desk upgraded our room. The hotel window offered a fantastic view of Jinji Lake. The indoor swimming pool was especially great, overlooking the iconic 'Big Trousers' landmark. Plus, there's a hot spring-like pool right next to it, perfect for warming up after a swim. The pool water quality was excellent. Additionally, breakfast was very rich and satisfying!

They kindly upgraded me to a lake-view room for free, which was spacious, had great views, was clean and quiet, and the service was excellent! The personal butler was also very enthusiastic. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely be back!
