We as a family had our Christmas lunch here. Big variety of wonderful dishes but it did not match any of my food experiences in Namibia. They should step up their game because every one around them is doing an amazing job. Besides the food the Venue and atmosphere was great.

My Colleague from SA booked to stay at this hotel and both of us were very disappointed in the Swakop Hotel and Entertainment Centre. The cost is very high for the very ordinary and unspectacular accommodation. I booked directly on the website as a local and paid more than my Colleague who booked through an agent in SA which is a real ripoff! I have never been able to get an invoice for the stay because the link when I paid did not work, the receptionist could not print it and my emails and phone calls have not been answered. The rooms are small and there did not seem to be a main light in the bedroom so I had to work with the very dim bedside light. There is no separate shower and you have to shower over the bath. The Wi-Fi did not work on either my phone or laptop and none of the reception staff were able to assist. There are many far better places to stay in Swakopmund that are a lot cheaper. I will not stay there again.

hotel under renovation ,just a mess of builders materials .this hotel should be closed while renovating.the hotel itself was a disappointment ,after staying here 15 years ago it was a shadow of its former status.old mattresses ,lumpy pillows carpets needed a good clean, overall overpriced and as stated when renovating close the hotel.the breakfast was sub standard buffet for the price we paid ,can not recommend this hotel ,strand hotel upmarket better in all respects.

Beautiful gem in the town of Swakopmund, with easy access to get your daily step counts in along the beach and breath in that Atlantic Ocean air. Service level by the staff was awesome! We tend to be so critical of service levels, can say well done to the team at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment center, especially Platform One restaurant

The hotel was fine for a couple of nights. The rooms were lovely and modern (although we were given a view of a wall which was a shame!) . The pool is freezing so not useable in the winter months. The interior of the hotel (lobby and hallways) are a little run down and could do with updating. The lounge/bar is relaxing with the fire and TV. Breakfast had a large variety of options but the heaters to keep food warm (like beans, hashbrowns etc) were luke warm at best so the food was generally pretty cold. The hotel is set about a 15 mins walk from the water front where the restaurants are so you will need to use a taxi after dark.

Hotel conveniently located pretty much at the end of the B2 from Walvis Bay. 10 min walk to the pier. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Nice old building that used to be a train station. Rooms were fine but the soundproofing wasn't the best so quite noisy in the evenings and mornings. Great wifi and a load of sports channels on the TV. Ate at the Tug near the pier and Inspired Pizza just around the corner from the hotel on Hendrik Street - both worth a visit. Good value for what we paid overall. Drove from Sossusvlei - C27-C19-C14-B2. Google said 5 hours, took 30 mins more largely due to parts of the C19 and C14 being very corrugated. Driving c80kph on the corrugated parts helps with the quality of the ride but you then need to be careful as the car isn't as stable especially around slight bends!

I always stay here as it’s central , service normally good, and has amnesties such as a bar and pool. Reception desk always there to help and the pool area is lovely to chill in. It’s a little more expensive than most of the rival hotels but I would say worth it. Only disappointment this time was the bar. The chap working behind it decided to cash up 30 mins before the advertised closing time of 11pm. Might not sound a big deal but when you have arranged a leaving drink with a colleague it’s not so great in a closed bar. Otherwise fully recommend this establishment.

Beautiful railway station converted into a hotel with good function space for events. Includes a gymnasium and cinema! Just 30 minutes from Walvis Bay International Airport. Small swimming pool. One main restaurant. Walking distance from Swapopmund city centre.

We stayed here from 22-27 December 2023, and absolutely loved it. From the time I made bookings, Brigitte's assistance was top notch. When we arrived we were welcomed with broad smiles by reception staff. The staff was so helping and went the extra mile to ensure we had all activities booked. The rooms are clean and spacious. The only down side was the charismas lunch, which I felt did not deliver on what was promised on the menu. I looked forward to tasting eggnog which i have never had, but it was not available. The food that was served was tasty which made up for the missing things on the menu. Overall we had a great experience and will visit the hotel again Thank you to all staff. Tuelo

Not much to add from what others have said. Plus points are it being a short walk from town centre shops and attractions and the huge beds. Only downside for me was having to walk outside, around the pool and down round a few other corners to get to the breakfast room. It was a chilly walk of a morning!

Excellent place to stay. The town is very clean, the best are the surrounding dunes and the beach (Atlantic Ocean ) is a walking distance. Do the camel ride into the desert. The salt farm in Walvis Bay is also a must see.

This is an exotic hotel situated in an exotic town. It's grand, and the building used to be a colonial building with a lot of pictures lining the wall pointing to the past. There's a swimming pool and an entertainment center right on the premises. I loved the buffet breakfasts

This hotel is a lovely heritage property, created out of the old railway station in Swakopmund, a few minutes’ walk from the shops, restaurants, and seafront of the city. It has a lovely ambience. The staff are very welcoming and polite. Our room was very comfortable, with a large double bed that was snug, but also irritating as it was two single beds pushed together. The room also had air conditioning, safe, very good Wi-Fi, safe and a large, bathroom. The bath can be slippery if using the bath/shower so a bathmat should be used and the step down from the bath is large so care should be taken. There is also a glass shelf at head height in the shower so you have to be careful so you don’t hit your head on it when you’re washing. There was a large wardrobe with plenty of space and baggage storage space. There is also a desk. Housekeeping is very good. The hotel has a small outdoor pool in a nice central courtyard. A lounge/bar with a TV is located next to it which shows sports. Service is good. The hotel also has a small gift shop. A casino is located next door, but I didn’t visit. The hotel can be a little cold, especially as a lot of it is open to the outside. Breakfast is extensive, with a large selection of hot and cold dishes and eggs made to order. The staff are very helpful and efficient. There is a large secure car park at the front of the hotel. I would recommend it as a base for visiting the city.
