When you stay at Ocean Villas of Deerfield in Deerfield Beach, you'll be on the beach, a 1-minute drive from Deerfield Beach and 9 minutes from Florida Atlantic University. This beach motel is 9.1 mi (14.6 km) from Fort Lauderdale Beach and 4.3 mi (7 km) from Pompano Beach. Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as an outdoor pool or take in the view from a terrace and a garden. This motel also features complimentary wireless internet access, concierge services, and a picnic area. Featured amenities include laundry facilities, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite. Make yourself at home in one of the 20 air-conditioned rooms featuring microwaves. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Private bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include safes and coffee/tea makers, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"We first stayed at Ocean Villas about six years ago and found it an excellent value for clean, basic accommodations near the beach. This time, we found the facility had gotten a nice exterior facelift, and the rooms were as before clean and serviceable. We had a pleasant and comfortable stay. Rooms have good-sized refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, and basic dishes. Beds are comfortable. Some rooms are much smaller than others for the same number of guests. Our room had only one small bedside lamp for lighting, though we found a second small reading lamp in the closet. There's a nice pool area with lounge chairs. There is no housekeeping (though one can have towels replaced by leaving them outside), and the office is only open briefly around check-in and check-out times (lockbox arrangements are made for those arriving later). Unfortunately, the price has increased significantly, while the facilities and service remain at the budget-hotel level, so the value for the money is not as good as in the past."

Tru by Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Downtown

8.4/10
Very Good

I enjoyed my stay at Tru by Hilton in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The location was great. Downtown, easy access to everywhere, without feeling like you’re in the middle of a busy city. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Over all, the vibe of the place is very much like college dorm or summer camp for grown adults. I’d definitely stay here again. The free breakfast every morning was also a very nice addition.

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hollywood Beach

The room was quite nice - sparkling clean! This is definitely the most important element for me, but this place didn't disappoint regarding cleanliness. One thing I found disappointing was that, while this is a solid place to have a family vacation, there isn't really a more quiet place to get some work done besides the desk in the guest room. The business center is right in the middle of the front lobby, which can sometimes get super loud. A quieter workspace area that is tucked away would be nice. One frustrating thing was the amount of gratuity tacked on to everything. We went to the Bar & Grill for some snacks and a beer one day, and despite only getting our order taken at the bar and one other person bringing out our food and drinks once, maybe twice, the resort has the audacity to add on an 18% service fee on top of the price automatically. I understand that inflation and cost of living are a problem, but it shouldn't give hotel chains like Hilton to pass on the responsibility of paying their employees to their customers. They should actually pay their people a fair wage. $40/day+tax for mandatory valet parking was also completely unnecessary. That being said, experience-wise, it's still a good place and seemed to be one of the lower-priced resorts in the area, but I hate how hotel chains tend to find ways to gouge just a little bit more money out of people around every corner.

Rocketstay is awful. Pain to use, slow, cumbersome, check in extraordinarily late so they can charge extra to check in early, extremely early check out. This place was advertised at $130/night, and at the end of the rocketstay fees it was $200/night. Not worth it.

Call the hotel for airport pick up. After a short wait, it took no time to get to the lobby. There is a free shuttle service to the cruise port. It is the best organizated way of loading the passengers to the bus in the order of drop off. Two thumbs up.

Days Inn by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale-Oakland Park Airport N

This hotel was a distance from the Hollywood airport, but when I called and asked for a shuttle, a driver came within 20minutes to pick me up. He gave me rather poor directions as to where to meet him, so I waited and texted him off and on for another 20 minutes before I was actually picked up.I wasn't familiar with the airport, so I did the best I could with my two pieces of luggage. Once at the hotel, I had paid for a room with two queen bed, but told the front desk lady I really preferred a king bed.She told me she couldn't change the room because I paid through a third party. The manager offered to help me with my luggage and I then asked him if I could get a room with a king size bed after seeing several small, loud children in the room next to mine.He was very nice and placed me in a quiet room with a king size bed in the back of the hotel. I finally got some sleep after a long flight. There is a restaurant on the premises, but the only thing I could really order in the sandwich category was a delicious, thick hamburger that took over 35 minutes to serve. There was a comedian in the next room who wasn't funny and just three other people there and nobody else in the small restaurant. The service was slow and the humor was southern. The room was spacious, all the lights worked, and the bed was comfortable. The shower/tub area was ancient, but had quick hot water. I really can't recommend this hotel in good faith after all the inconvenienced I endured. Because of all the inconveniences after a long trip from San Diego, I can't really recommend this hotel in good faith.

Ocean Reef Hotel

During our trip through Florida, we had the pleasure of staying one night at the Ocean Reef Hotel, and it was truly a great experience. Upon arrival, we found the reception closed, but it wasn’t long before a very friendly lady came to assist us with check-in. She had just gone out to grab a bite to eat, which is completely understandable – everyone needs food! Once we got to our hotel room, we were pleased to find it clean, well-maintained, and above average in size. Although there were a few minor maintenance issues, what mattered most was that the beds were extremely comfortable and everything was spotless. After checking in, we went out for a meal, but upon returning, we discovered that the parking lot was nearly full, making it difficult to find a spot. Without even needing to ask, a very helpful staff member on the night shift immediately resolved the issue by assigning us a great parking space near the entrance. This thoughtful service made a huge difference. Throughout the night, this gentleman also conducted a round of checks, which gave us a great sense of security. The hotel itself was quiet, and we had a restful night's sleep. The bathroom facilities, including the toilet and shower, were also impeccably clean. In the morning, when we checked out, the same lady who helped us with check-in was there again, and once more, we were greeted with kindness and a friendly smile. This hotel is definitely a place I would return to during a Florida road trip. I highly recommend it and want to thank the staff for their excellent care. It’s absolutely a place to revisit.
