The Wheatsheaf Hotel and Restaurant

Lovely 2 night stay in this small family run Inn. Accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was served to you, with a good selection of options and was delicious as was the evening meal. We dined twice in the hotel as it was so good. Staff were helpful and very friendly

We’ve just had two nights here with our doggies and would definitely recommend it! A lovely cosy pub/hotel with a relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. We stayed in the cottage which is about a 30 second walk from the main building with roadside parking outside the door. We were so pleasantly surprised with the cottage! Spacious, well equipped, clean and just really nicely done. It even has a back garden which was handy for letting out our dogs. Food was delicious, good portion sizes and brilliant service and very fairly priced and they had a very good range of drinks at the bar. We would 100% stay here again. The only potential downside is that there isn’t much around, we drove about 10 minutes to a co op…BUT that did mean that the village itself was really quiet which we love :) Perfect for a relaxing get away!

A couple of nights. Our favourite was the first when we got to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant. The room was good. Perhaps a bit dated (who uses a DVD player?). The bed linen was frayed and one of the blind toggles was missing but the bed was comfortable and the shower nice. All very clean. The meals were good enough and we'd be happy enough to eat (and stay) here again. Filling pub food. The hotel's location was good too for exploring this end of the Borders

Can’t thank the staff at the Wheatsheaf enough for making our family get together so great. We were a party of 18 and a dog and the staff couldn’t have been anymore accommodating.

Wonderful evening. Great food. Friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. The birthday girl enjoyed her evening.

Took my wife away to celebrate her retirement. This was a jewel of a place. The service was excellent. The meals were fabulous and the staff excellent. I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic. We were greeted by Michael, the boss? who was very warm and friendly. we asked to upgrade our room and showed us both before choosing. Great room, very spacious, comfy bed snd nice bathroom. Food was delicious, fish and chips were as good as I've eaten anywhere, batter was very light and crispy. Prawns and scallops were excellent too. Good atmosphere in a lovely dining room. Best till last, the staff were marvellous. In no particular order, Chris Dean Jo Linda Alan Heather were all so welcoming. Housekeeping, no names but very nice too. It was a great stay and can't wait to return!

It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such great service and care. Thank you to all staff. Food was outstanding. Chef was great. We will return.
