Te Moana Tahiti Resort

Check in and our room were fine. The biggest problems were at the bar and restaurant. At the poolside bar, they never came back asking for refills. Had a hard time getting bar tenders' attention. When we finally asked for refills after waiting for 20 minutes, they gave us bills to be signed before serving us drinks. When they asked us to sign the bill, we said we wouldn't unless they give us the drinks we ordered. This went on for three refills. We finally got fed up and left for the restaurant. We did not have a reservation (just two people) and they simply said "no seating without a reservation". The front desk never suggested it nor the restaurant staff checking to see any openings at different time slot. This was our last night of our vacation and we were looking forward to a nice final dinner and drinks. But instead, we had to leave with a bitter taste in our mouth. Very disappointed.

This hotel was such a letdown. You are getting motel 6 quality for an absurd amount of money you pay. The toilet room is decent enough I guess. There’s a functioning toilet and sink. The shower room is where you start seeing the need for updates and repairs. The shower itself had mold on the tiles and ceiling. All of the metal; soap holder, faucets, shower head, towel rack etc. were all rusted. The sink and shower drains smell horribly like sewer when the water is running. The bed room had half of the power outlets functioning. The AC blew cold once you understood how to use the remote controller, it just constantly blows cold air. It doesn’t automatically turn off once it reaches the desired temperature, so you constantly have to wake up at night to turn it off or on. The room is not sound proof at all. You could hear people’s conversation when they’re walking in the main yard and we were on the 2nd floor! Not sure if on-site or the surrounding properties have dogs. They are barking loudly throughout the night making it so difficult to sleep. The mattress was so firm that we would wake up with achy backs. When checking out, there was no one at the reception. I could hear them in the back room just talking with each other and laughing. After a good couple of minutes I had to yell at someone to come out. We had such a poor stay that we cancelled our last night there and booked the Intercontinental instead. Wish we had done it sooner as it was cheaper and 100x nicer.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and had a wonderful stay. The only reason I'd give this 4 stars is because we got delayed due to a snowstorm and we arrived 3 days late. I tried to adjust our stay, but the resort would not modify or cancel our booking. While I underst
