Reviews of Mingao Spring Hotel

Traveling to GuGuan for hot springs with two kids for Christmas. Knowing rooms would be tight and expensive, I chose this hot spring inn across from the bus station. I booked a family room in the old building. It was run-down but still cost 4,000 NTD. They're building a new wing next door, so I guess they've given up on renovating the old one, but the price hasn't budged.

THe lady boss was fantastic. She was so warm and hospitable, preparing delicious breakfast for us that helped nurse us back to health while we are recovering. The location is so close to the visitor centre, close to the bus stop and bus station. It is so convenient. Easy access to food. Great room with a super comfortable room with a large tub. Highly recommend.

The soundproofing is a bit poor, but everything else is fine.

I misread the description in Chinese so this was partly my fault for booking a rather shabby room! The staff were very helpful and friendly though, so that was really lovely. The location was great, and I could easily get around. The only thing was really the amenities inside the room for this room type was flabbergasting! In short, every item inside was just old and of bare quality. You can have old furniture but have the furniture well-maintained. To name a few, the slippers provided were torn, the inside of the fridge was rusty, and there was no shower curtain inside the bathroom! The price was within my budget during peak season and I didn’t want to spend more, plus all other rooms were full, so I didn’t have much to complain about my stay. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious enough. But objectively speaking for the price I was charged, it was definitely pricey given the quality of the room. All I can say is, the photos provided by the hotel were definitely adjusted heavily for lighting and colour. Nevertheless I enjoyed my stay as the room fit my purpose for the stay. It was rather cozy. :)

The layout of the room is a bit odd; bed parked to wall, no clothes hanger, only hooks, toilet placed in a dead corner and you may easily hit yourself when you turn. They did not provide bath mat and bath curtain. You need to be very careful when you walk on a slippery floor. However, I need to appreciate the staff there. They are very helpful and polite and kept everything clean.

The hotel staff are very polite, attentive and caring. Transportation is also very convenient. Opposite is the 153 bus terminal, which goes from Taichung High Speed ​​Rail Station to Guguan. There are also buses to Taichung Railway Station, which is very convenient. There are many delicious foods nearby, as well as Family Mark and 7-11. Daily necessities are also easy to buy. There is a post office nearby so you can send postcards to relatives and friends. It is very convenient to go to nearby attractions from the hotel, and the signboards are very clear. On the first day we arrived at the hotel, the waiter took my husband and me to our room. When we entered the room, we were startled to see some small insects. The waiter immediately helped to clear them away and changed us to another room because the window of the room had been opened and there were bound to be small insects in nature. Thank you, Mr. Waiter. Because of our age and we had never slept on Japanese tatami, we felt very uncomfortable when we woke up the next day. The waiter was very nice! We were given a change to a very nice room. Although it cost a little extra, the waiter was really attentive and polite. On the other hand, I really appreciated their breakfast preparation. The salads and sandwiches were freshly made, which was very heartwarming. I was very grateful to the breakfast cook who noticed that my husband did not eat salads and cooked two boiled eggs and carrot cakes for him the next day. I appreciated her attentiveness and service attitude. We came from Hong Kong and it was our first time to Guguan. We were very happy and grateful for this three-day, two-night trip to Guguan. Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, it is acceptable. The hygiene is also good, the waiters are very good, and the new building under construction next to the hotel should be better next time we come. I will stay here again next time, thank you and wish the waiter well.

The hotel's facilities are old and need renovation. The overall comfort level is average. At this price, the CP value is not high and there are better options. The hot spring is pretty good, the water quality is OK, but the environmental maintenance can be improved. The service was OK, but the overall experience wasn't worth a return visit.

The room is large and comfortable. There is a private hot spring bath inside and a small balcony outside. Breakfast for one person includes free coffee, sandwiches, salads and fruits. Unfortunately, there are not many sockets in the room. There is only one socket at the bedside.

When we communicated in advance, I felt it was pretty good. Because I have the need to bring pets, the store also informed me in advance of the cleaning fee. I felt very good about this aspect. Guguan Bus Station is diagonally opposite, and there are hot stir-fry shops and snack shops next to it. A little further down the road is the famous hot spring Osmanthus Alley and suspension bridge, as well as Guguan Park (with footbath pool and kissing fish). Overall a great place~~ Best of all it's pet friendly! !

The equipment is completely different from the original photos As soon as I checked in and saw the equipment in the room, I went crazy. The soundproofing is so poor that you can hear sounds from the next door room even when you use the toilet. This is not an exaggeration, it is really true

The hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Personally, I think it would be better to separate the hot spring and bathing areas due to hygiene issues. This is the only thing I am not satisfied with.

The bathtub is big and the water temperature is comfortable. The air conditioner is a bit noisy. There are inevitably more insects and ants in the mountains. Other than that, everything is great. It is close to the trail and there are many places to eat nearby.
