I stayed at Midtown Richardson Taipei and overall the room cleanliness and hotel service were very good. The room was comfortable, tidy, and well-maintained, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
However, I had a disappointing experience at the breakfast restaurant. One morning, I noticed another guest accidentally dropped a piece of bread on the floor and placed it back into the food tray. I picked up the bread and handed it to one of the staff to alert her. Instead of acknowledging it, she gave me a black face, threw the bread into an empty tray, and continued with her work without any response.
This left a very negative impression, especially since hygiene and customer service are important in a dining area.
Overall, the hotel stay was pleasant, but I hope the breakfast restaurant staff can improve their attitude and professionalism in the future.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Wanhua Train Station and just a short walk from Longshan Temple Metro Station. There are plenty of eateries in the surrounding neighborhood, making it easy to find meals nearby.
Like many hotels in Taiwan, early check-in is not allowed, and all guests can only check in after 3 p.m. Check-in is done through a self-service machine, which feels somewhat impersonal for a hotel at this price point.
The room is clean and modern, with a comfortable bed. However, it doesn’t provide complimentary bottled water; you’ll need to use the water dispenser next to the elevator.The gym is very small, equipped with just treadmills, and there’s also a small pool with a lifeguard on duty. Remember to bring a swimming cap if you plan to use the pool.
There's also a play area for children which I didn't see anyone ever use.

Perhaps one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! The location is incredibly convenient, just a 10-15 minute walk from Ximending station, making it easy to explore the area. The room was spacious and well-appointed, complete with complimentary bottled water. I appreciated that the housekeeping staff cleaned the room daily, provided you didn’t activate the ‘do not disturb’ button.
The hotel features a unique underwater or submarine theme, which adds a fun and immersive atmosphere. I booked a room without windows, and while the lighting was somewhat dim, it created a cozy ambiance that I found quite pleasant.
The receptionists were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. A thoughtful addition to the hotel is the luggage scale available for guests, allowing you to weigh your bags before checking out—definitely a great touch!
We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which I would rate a perfect 10/10! There was an impressive variety of food options, including a delightful hotpot selection.
The bathroom facilities were well-designed, with the toilet and shower room separated for added convenience. They provided complimentary body wash and shampoo, and I was pleased to see that the bed sheets were changed daily, ensuring a fresh and clean environment throughout my stay.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent location, friendly service, and thoughtful amenities!

Clean, free coffee available 24 hours, water dispenser + snacks provided. The room doesn't have a lot of space. But can carry 2 25-inch suitcases at the same time. Soft mattress. Bathroom separates wet and dry. But the shower area is a bit narrow. Large people may feel uncomfortable. There is no flushing hose. Traveling to Taipei Main is about 500 meters. There is a 7-Eleven nearby. (But not open 24 hours) You can inform the housekeeper to come clean every day.

Im alone but the room is so big — they provide good for families room. More blanket and pillows. Clean with free slippers and water. Self check in and check out which is nice.
Near to Ximending. Recommend to stay for fam and very affordable. When I come back, i’ll make sure to book in this hotel. Thumbs up

Chose this hotel because it has Jap style toilet bowl (warm seat & smart bidet) + it is near all our fav food joints. It provides real towel & towel floor mat. Shower room glass door closes well so no water flowing all over bathroom floor issue.
As the hotel entrance is in the backlane with 3 access lanes, suggest to give the 2 addresses shown in the photo I took instead of 105 Xining Road. When I used the address: Lane 34, Section 2, Hankou St, the taxi stopped exactly right at the entrance to the lane leading to hotel entrance.
Suggestion:
Only 1 mirror in bathroom is not enough. Will be perfect if they add a full length mirror on the wall in the bed room near power socket so one person can use hair dryer to style hair or do makeup while the bathroom is occupied by the other person.

A big thank you to the helpful Ctrip agent who went out of her way to book me the same room as my previous stay. That last visit was particularly special as we celebrated my son's acceptance into his master's program and a post-pandemic birthday here. This time, the hotel's facilities and service were as consistently excellent as before. Despite the slightly hazy view due to unfavorable weather, this is the only place that offers such a superb vantage point, with iconic Taipei landmarks like Xiaonanmen, the Presidential Office Building, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and Taipei 101 all visible. It was a truly enjoyable trip to Taipei, and we look forward to returning next year.

Very Good Location near 西门町 and clean Room, the hotel is old, it still use old triditional physical key and with central aircon system, but the room is fitted with dehumidifier.
Please note that for the recent renovated Room, although the power socket is multi plug compatable socket type , but for UK plug, the power cord cannot be pluged into the socket propery due to the obstruction of power socket flip cover .

The location is nice, with XiMenDing across the street. There is a bit walk to the MRT station, but it is acceptable. The hotel hallway seems a bit old, but the room is clean enough, and the restroom is big enough. However, the restroom bathtub sucks, the shower curtain is not able to block the water, and it will cause the floor to flood.
The breakfast has many selections, which is good, but they are not really delicious. My favorite part of the hotel is that they provide a weighing scale for luggage on the 13th-floor check-in lobby. This is very convenient for tourists who have a lot of luggage.

GGuest UserWhat an amazing hotel. Just a short distance away from the Ximending night market. Around 2 minute walk. What I love about the hotel is, it’s so near the market, but not in the market where there’s too much noise/activity. It’s close to all the known food places and about 300 meters from the biggest 7-11 (Sanrio) store. 😊 The hotel itself had free coffee/tea/water on the 6th floor. Laundry was so cheap. There’s a gym too. We tried the breakfast buffet and it was good! A but pricey (600 NTD per person), but I think it’s worth it if you don’t want to go out. But if you don’t want to spend that much, to the side of the hotel is a 24 hour shop that sells good egg sandwiches. Or you can go to Family Mart, which is only a few steps further. Again, the best hotel for its price. Very clean and smells really good.

AAshlynThe hotel is a bit far from the metro - it takes me 8 minutes of walk at my fastest speed but more realistically it takes about 12-15 minutes.
But! It makes up with its amenities. I really like the Smart TV which has youtube and even free netflix! The toilet also has a bidet :) And the electrical plugs are universal. They also provide complimentary access to a well-equiped gym nearby!
tip: there's a restroom you can access when you collect your luggage and you can use it to freshen up!

SShirleeeeI stayed alone in a double room, and the price was incredibly affordable—about the same as a hostel. The space is quite compact, so it might be a bit inconvenient for two people with large suitcases. The soundproofing isn’t great; the girl in the room next door was talking loudly on and off from 1:00 to 4:00 AM, which was extremely noisy. I kept waking up and had a hard time sleeping. I recommend that the hotel kindly remind guests to keep their voices down during late-night hours.
The location is super convenient—about a 6-minute walk from Ximen Station and Don Quixote. Even if you forget to bring toiletries, it’s not a problem, as the nearby shops stay open late. 我是一個人入住雙人房，價格非常划算，大約是青年旅館的價格。雖然空間較為狹窄，如果是兩位旅客且有大行李，可能會稍嫌不便。房間的隔音不太理想，隔壁房的女生在凌晨1點到4點之間斷斷續續大聲聊天，真的非常吵，讓我一整晚斷斷續續被吵醒，睡得很辛苦。建議旅館能提醒房客在深夜時保持安靜，避免影響他人休息。
地點非常方便，距離西門站與唐吉訶德步行大約6分鐘，就算沒帶盥洗用品也沒關係，附近店家營業到很晚，生活機能很棒。特別想誇獎櫃檯的服務人員，親切又貼心，真的非常感謝她們的協助！🙏🏻

GGuest UserWe booked the three person room. For some reason there were four beds but we weren't complaining because there is no luggage space so it was very useful to have a spare bed. The hostel staff were very friendly, they all speak Chinese and English. There is free water and instant coffee provided, as well as very helpful recommendations for local food places in their welcome book. The location is really good, just a ten minute walk from Ximen metro station, and the area is very trendy, with lots of nice bars.

GGuest UserIt is a small hotel in an alley. The room is not big, the bathroom equipment is small, and there is no dry and wet separation. The toilet paper and clothes will get wet when taking a shower. The only advantage is that it is quite tidy. The location is not bad and you can walk to the west gate in a few steps. From the MRT station, it only takes 5 minutes to walk to Ximending. The room is not big, but it feels very warm and the staff at the counter are very friendly.
