Hotel room was great for what I needed, solo traveller wanting something small with a hot bath. Room had 2 single beds and everything you need within the room. The staff member on the front desk spoke brilliant English even though I was prepared to check-in in Japanese. Only downside is the location as a tourist (30 minute walk from town centre). With the art festival happening, most hotels in town were booked out or extremely expensive, so I chose this one. Made things a bit tough to get around but I was happy to use local buses or walk into town.

The location is located in the downtown area of Takamatsu, about ５ minutes walk from Kotoden Kawaramachi Station, there is a large shopping center nearby (next to the next), and there is a convenience store at the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient. It is easy to understand if you use the red brick color appearance and the large cat object as a marker. There is no parking lot, and if you use a car, the parking lot of the adjacent shopping center (Marugame Town Green) is a affiliated P, so you will be asked to discount at check-in. The front desk, lounge and restaurant are on the ２ floor, and breakfast is served here. ３ The lower floors above the floor are the hotel floors. The upper floors are dormitories, and there seems to be a coin laundry in the middle. I used the twin on the hotel floor, but the room seems to have been renovated recently and the room is clean. The size is minimal, especially the unit bath is extremely narrow, so if you use each toilet, washbasin, and bath, you may be in danger of hitting your feet and head if you don't devise a little. Even if I was １７３ centimeters tall, I thought that my knees would stick to the wall when I sat down, and if a large foreign traveler used it, I would have a hard time. This was my fourth stay at the JR Clement, and I keep going back because it's always a good experience staying there! This time I booked a more spacious room, the deluxe double, which had a great view across the city to the mountains from both the bedroom and the bathroom, with the sea and cute island of Ozuchishima visible to the right. In the past, I've had lovely views of the port and castle from smaller rooms. I think all the rooms have views of some sort. The bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. It was nice to have a larger space with a bigger desk, plus a small table and easy chairs by the window. There was a generous daily allocation of toiletries (in packets rather than bottles which was good) - loved the lavender bubble bath, and the Olive Energy products were excellent. The hotel provides a daily newspaper as well. The staff are always knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. I didn't eat in the restaurants (I think there are three), but don't miss the delicious cakes and pastries from the in-house bakery! The location is perfect, at Takamatsu Port two minutes from the JR Station, and across the road from Takamatsu Castle/Tamamo Park and Takamatsu-chikko Station. There is also a busy bus hub (including for airport buses) and taxi rank. Many shops and eateries close by. It's lovely to walk by the sea without having to travel to do it. Great sunsets! From the port you can catch ferries or fast boats to Naoshima, the other the art islands and Shodoshima. It's about a 2km walk to my favourite garden, Ritsurin Koen, or you can catch a train from Takamatsu-chikko. Already re-booked for this year!

In the past, I've had lovely views of the port and castle from smaller rooms. I think all the rooms have views of some sort. The bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. It was nice to have a larger space with a bigger desk, plus a small table and easy chairs by the window. There was a generous daily allocation of toiletries (in packets rather than bottles which was good) - loved the lavender bubble bath, and the Olive Energy products were excellent. The hotel provides a daily newspaper as well. The staff are always knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. I didn't eat in the restaurants (I think there are three), but don't miss the delicious cakes and pastries from the in-house bakery! The location is perfect, at Takamatsu Port two minutes from the JR Station, and across the road from Takamatsu Castle/Tamamo Park and Takamatsu-chikko Station. There is also a busy bus hub (including for airport buses) and taxi rank. Many shops and eateries close by. It's lovely to walk by the sea without having to travel to do it. Great sunsets! From the port you can catch ferries or fast boats to Naoshima, the other the art islands and Shodoshima. It's about a 2km walk to my favourite garden, Ritsurin Koen, or you can catch a train from Takamatsu-chikko. Already re-booked for this year!

I stayed for a large consecutive holiday for Seto art. Because it was a weekday in the valley of the consecutive holiday, I chose this hotel which was worthwhile when the whole city was set up to increase the price. About 8 minutes walk from Takamatsu Station. It is close to the station, but there are almost no convenience stores and restaurants around. Check-in and check-out are all done by machine. There is a attendant at the front desk, but no guest response, and it is a miscellaneous person. The room is a modest single on the 4 floor. It is not large, but two people are enough. There is a small TV. There is no particular shortage, and it is no problem as a hotel, but one point, you can't leave your luggage because of lack of personnel. Therefore, it is not suitable for those who want to leave their luggage at check-in and check-out. For those who do not, it will be one of the candidates for accommodation in Takamatsu, where accommodation costs tend to be high.
