New Akagi (Takasaki Ekimae)

Good points: the price is very reasonable; the location is good - very close from the station; the futon was clean and warm; the staff was kind and nice. Bad points: there was a pregnant smell of cigarette in the room; even though I booked a non-smoking room, there was an ash tray in the room indicating that smoking was probably allowed; the shampoo provided as amenity was not very good; the atmosphere on the hallways of the hotel was a bit dark. Things which were different between what I read in the hotel description on the site and reality: the natural hot springs are not part of the hotel, you have to walk to another facility by yourself to get there; internet access is not free of charge; the hotel description says that there are complimentary coffee and rice balls, however, there was only complimentary green tea in the room; even though the hotel has the tag "non-smoking in all rooms", there is a pregnant smell of cigarette in the room and there is also an ash tray in the room which indicates that smoking is probably allowed.
