We stayed here for a 2 nights on a Distant Journey (DJ) tour of Japan. Arrived around 5pm by coach from Mt Fuji area. Check in was well organised but it was after 6pm before our luggage arrived in our room on 8th floor. We were meant to meet our TM and guide between 7 and 7.30 for advice on where to have dinner. Map in hand we turned right outside hotel and proceeded into town. Recommended restaurants were very difficult to find. Any we did find, including those not mentioned, were either fully reserved or full or, as time passed towards 8pm, were closing. We headed back to the hotel to find buffet option was £45 or set Japanese meal ¥8,300 (£53). Many of us went to a 711 across the road from hotel and bought ready meals, which they heated for us in microwave, beer or wine and we retreated to our rooms. The street lighting is poor so navigation from a map was difficult. Breakfast was like school dinners but passable. Bar closes at 7pm!!! If you are reading this and are on a JD tour get to town early to stand a chance of eating out. A group did find a restaurant very close by hotel before the bridge on opposite side of road to 711 but the name unrecognisable as in Japanese, photo attached.

We were 4 to, this traditional Japanese hotel, in a single room with tatami and sleeping on the ground. Typical Japanese breakfast and dinner equals two days. We take advantage of,go to the onsen. A very good place and a good value but in need of updating and refurbishment. Liked · Great staff who could not do enough for you. The location is perfect. Food for dinner was delicious, but the service was very rushed and there were several miscommunications with the staff. breakfast was good but not great. Lots of amenities in the room. The lobby. The holiday decorations and the outside terrace were lovely. Super clean. The free coffee, tea, soft drinks, and raman in the lobby were a wonderful touch. Location is perfect and veiw from the room was wonderful. Disliked · Decor was very dated in the room and somewhat depressing. Toilet paper and towels were both terrible; they were cheap and awful. Such a shame for such a nice place to cut corners on a minor but important detail. Little or no storage in the room except for some hangers.

Our stay at Oyado Hachibee was wonderful! The rooms are peaceful, the staff is welcoming, and the meals are delicious. We enjoyed the baths immensely. If you're nervous about traditional Japanese food, don't be, it was very tasty and there are many things to try. We appreciated the coin-op laundry. The hotel is a 30 minute walk (partly uphill) from town, which is doable, but there's also a bus that runs twice per hour. We took the hotel shuttle back to the train station. While you're in Takayama, check out old town and the shrine walk. Excellent hospitality! Highly recommended.

Hotel is in a very good location being very near to the Old Town where the attractions and restaurants are. However there is limited parking space, and we had to park in a public car park 100m away. Staff were friendly, but communication was a little difficult as they were not very conversant in English. Overall nice hotel.

Very convenient, only 5 mins walk from the Takayama Train/bus station. The hotel serves complimentary hot ramen from 9pm to 10.30pm and free coffee at the lobby. The buffet breakfast is so fantastic,. I love the private onsen and the free ice-cream after the onsen. They also provide yukata which can be worn to the onsen and dining area. Footwears have to be removed and stored at the lobby. It's truly an experience and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. Would highly recommend Takayama Ouan.

On the way to Hokuriku on a solo trip, I stayed at this hotel for the first time to stay in HIDA Takayama city for one night. A ８ story hotel on the west side of Takayama station. It was easy to sit and sleep in a semi double bed. I am glad that the juice of the vending machine can be drunk by one service. Whatever I liked, I liked the inner hot spring of the natural hot spring and the outer hot spring which became semi open air. The body warms up in a weak alkaline hot spring. Shampoo • rinse is also good to be selected from ４ types. It is surprising that both dinner and breakfast are substantial. In particular, there are many menu of small bowls for buffet dinner, and there are many dishes that use vegetables in HIDA region. There is an open kitchen, and you can get roast beef and aritoba shrimp in front of you. 〆 is HIDA beef suji curry rice It is a little sweet, but it is full of onions and beef suji It is not a luxurious spice that made it, but it is an excellent product that can taste the taste of HIDA beef luxury. I want to replace any cups. If you come to HIDA Takayama again, I want to stay at this hotel.

A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Vicinissimo alla stazione, si raggiunge in pochi minuti l'edificio, si prende la scala mobile e si sale al primo piano dove è presente la reception. Le stanze doppie sono nella media delle stanze giapponesi, quindi piccole, ma tutto sommato tranquille. Nell'hotel è presente servizio di lavanderia fai-da-te ed è possibile (anche se non ci sono andato) usufruire dell'onsen; difficoltà di comunicazione con il personale della reception. La cosa più simpatica dell'hotel resta il sarubobo gigante (ossia la bambola-amuleto tipica della cittadina) che staziona all'ingresso della reception. Consigliato per chi è di passaggio per Takayama e per chi vuole una base di partenza per la visita al caratteristico paese di Shirakawa-go.

I used it on a trip to Gifu. The location is very close to Takayama Station for 15 minutes walk, and there are many paid parking lots nearby even if you come by car, and there is a contract parking lot of facilities (the contract parking lot is a reservation system) The facilities were very clean and I chose the cheapest room, but all the toilets and showers were clean and cozy. Free WiFi In addition to the room, there is a shared space for facilities users called hot springs, open-air baths and lounge rooms. Hot springs and open-air baths have a reservation table at the entrance of the facility and write a room number in 9:00~10:00, and you can rent the time. In the lounge room, there is a breakfast venue, a counter, a table, a digging, and a yogibo (low repulsion cushion). In addition, you can buy a bento in a convenience store, such as a drink bar, a barista (coffee maker) microwave oven, and a stove in the lounge room. We stayed at Hotel Associa Takayama Resort as part of our tour group. We had a spacious twin room on the 15th floor of the Alps Wing which was the largest room of our tour. The room was very comfortable as were the beds. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The resort is on the outskirts of Takayama but there is a shuttle bus into the centre of the city. There are limited restaurants in the hotel and 2 of them were booked out by the time we arrived. We managed to book into the Japanese restaurant and had a delicious meal there. The breakfast buffet didn't have cereal. There was a laundromat on the ground floor which consisted of a number of combined washing machine/dryers which dispensed their own detergent.

I contacted my family in advance, and came to pick me up at the waiting area on the second floor of the JR station. The location of the cabin is very quiet in the middle of the mountain, and the facilities are reasonably arranged. Although the public bathroom is shared, it does not affect the use. Sitting by the fire in winter is warm and cozy. Five-course dinner, except for the slightly salty pasta, everything else is perfect. Western breakfast is also very hard. Because of the early departure, the hostess prepared for us alone twenty minutes in advance, and the full score was well deserved.

We were lucky to stay at Mercure Takayami on their opening night. Everything about the hotel was above our expectations. Rooms were a very comfortable with attention to detail. Having USB and USB C charging ports for our electronics next to the bed was very convenient and meant we didn't need to search for our Japan power adaptors. This hotel has been well designed with a focus on local traditional carpentry and joinery skills. When you book this hotel make sure you book a room that includes access to the private Onsen. We had an open-air experience while we watched the snow from our private onsen. Breakfast had an extensive range of Tradition Hida dishes and Western choices, with different options available each day. This was a great way to try Hida Beef Curry and Hida chicken cooked on a traditional grill. Staff were very helpful going above and beyond with their dedicated and personal service, even searching the internet for me to find a store that sold Yama Cola. We will be back to stay again and will try to stay longer next time.
