Hotel Around Takayama, Ascend Hotel Collection

Yumoto Choza

It was scheduled to come in early July, but the road was stopped by heavy rain and there was a cancellation from choza, but it was possible to come in September. I went from Takayama to R158, but there was a landslide in 々 July and there were several one-way passages, but I was able to arrive in the evening. There is a private passage (approach) from the parking lot to the entrance of the inn, and the expectation of the long seat is swelled (≧∀≦) When you enter the entrance, there is a front cherry blossom lobby, and there is a large Irori beside the lobby, and the romantic of the long seat is It's like drifting. This time, I was in a room with a 10 chapter + hibachi, but the room with a hibachi was not large and I didn't have to take it (^^;) because it was guided to the room and it was a corona ridge, the futon was laid from the beginning, and the room of 10 chapters felt narrow I was in the hot spring before dinner, cross the road in front of the inn to ”kawara no Yu” and walk through the green tree 々 path, there is a hot spring hut and arrives at ”kawara no Yu”! This is a semi open-air bath (the hot water of the beauty of the source hanging) You can enter slowly while listening to the sound of the river. The large bath in the inner bath is made of high ceilings and is slowly immersed in the hot springs. Also, the open-air bath was large and the leaves of the tree 々 fell, and I was able to take a bath here, but when I went in the morning, the open-air bath did not seem to be very beautiful 〜 (^ ◇ ^;) Dinner is a restaurant with a fireplace ‼︎ charcoal is burned in the fireplace You can bake local seasoned oil, salted cherry blossoms, and gohei Mochi with charcoal fire slowly. There are only local delicious foods such as preceding, appetizer, sashimi of HIDA mass, boiled bowl, iron plate grilling of HIDA beef, tempura of mountain vegetables, and rice of HIDA Koshihikari, and local sake is also available. I also enjoyed the bone sake of rock fish (≧∇≦) Breakfast is also delicious and enjoyable, such as local vegetables, mountain vegetables, and so on. The room was also dedicated to each room and I was able to eat without worrying about other guests. This time, I was sometimes called corona cherry blossoms, but I was able to spend with great satisfaction (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) I went home from R471 (Okuhida Yu no Hana Kaido Road) along the Takahara River on another route from the way I came back! This was wider and there were few construction sites and I was able to return to Takayama easily.
Hidatakayama Futarishizuka Hakuun

I stayed for 2 nights for the Takayama matsuri, so prices were obviously not bargain rates. I wanted to experience a traditional ryokan, and the Futarishizuka definitely fits the bill - sleeping on a futon (surprisingly comfortable) on a tatami mat floor, sliding screen doors. The hotel is a little tired e.g. the fittings such as the washbasin/vanity unit in my room were definitely showing their age. The main tatami bedroom had a low (sittinng on the floor with backrest) Japanese chair and low table by the TV, and the smaller room with a little wardrobe and vanity unit also had a couple of Western chairs and table, and fine views over the city. There was a kettle, teapot (green tea but no hojicha, and a cookie), and TV in the room. My room also had a separate toilet (Japanese technotoilet) and a little bathroom with bathtub which I didn't use as I prefered the onsen experience. I was very glad of the quilted jacket provided along with the cotton yukata as it was a bit chilly my first evening and when I went down to breakfast the next morning. (More guests at breakfast were wearing the yukatas than every day clothes). I had breakfast at the ryokan but not dinner. The first day the breakfast was very Japanese (grilled fish, various vegetables, pickles, rice, miso, an egg (cold but not totally uncooked - the white was white) which I wasn't sure what to do with so mixed it in with my rice) plus some fruit. I'm not sure if the brown beans in goo was the infamous natto (the ”Marmite” divisive Japanese breakfast food item) as the flavour wasn't that strong. There is a coffee machine in the lobby as well as tea served with breakfast. The second day the breakfast was more fusion - one dish with simmering tofu in broth, another with more Western style ham, fried egg and a couple of bits of wiener type sausage, plus various random salady items, rice and tea. I didn't get to experience the outdoor onsen, only the indoor one. (They switch the red noren curtain (ladies) and blue one (men's) between the 2 changing room entrances, one for indoors and one for outdoors). The indoor onsen has 2 ”pot baths” which were a lovely temperature, and a square one (a bit hot for me). The hotel is up a bit of a steep hill, but they offer a shuttle minibus service to and from the station for guests. I'd recommending bringing a sleep eye mask (the one from your airplane amenity kit) as it got quite light quite early (no modern heavy blackout curtains in the room). Don't expect a modern designer boutique hotel, but enjoy a taste of traditional Japanese hospitality.

I booked late in the peak season but I was quite satisfied !! The hot springs on the rooftop (?) were also good. The rooms are a bit narrow ㅠㅠㅠ
Tokyu Stay Hida Takayama Musubinoyu

A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Shaving, brush, tea bags such as tea and green tea, cosmetics, cotton swabs, cotton, etc. The public bath is also fashionable with designer specifications. There is also an open-air bath. You can enjoy two different design hot springs in the men and women replacement system. The atmosphere is like a public bath in a luxury inn. It doesn't seem to be in front of the station. There are also view lounges and foot baths on the top floor. Convenient location and recommended for sightseeing and business. The staff has a level difference depending on the person. Because it is a new hotel, is it possible?
Hotel Wood Takayama

My favorite hotel in Takayama. The hotel has a sense of design, good service, clean bath (but small) and a lot of Hida pure milk ice cream to eat. There are soft drinks available all day, and you can also try more than a dozen kinds of sake for free. The breakfast is delicious and beautiful. There are also many Hida drinks and milk dairy products to drink. Later we lived in Takayama Sakura. When we wanted to have a drink after the soup at night and found that there was no lemonade at the front desk, we sighed that if we were in wood in this climate, we must have started drinking soft drinks.
