Hestia Hotel Susi

The experience was completely positive and the breakfast gave a good start to the day. 🫵🙏

A lovely city hotel just outside the city center. The lobby is very well-designed and attractive. The rooms are nice and spacious, the food is good, and, as is typical in the Baltics, the staff is very young and polite. The shower worked perfectly. We would definitely stay here if we were traveling to Estonia privately.

The staff is very helpful and attentive. It was a pleasure to interact with them. The hotel and my room were also remarkably clean: much cleaner than some 4-star hotels. The bedding was comfortable. The only negative point I can mention is the outdated bathroom, with a broken drain cover and no shower curtain.

The Hotel Hestia Susi was one of four hotels on a package tour, meaning I didn't choose them myself. All the hotels were 3-star national ratings and included breakfast. LOCATION: This hotel is also located away from the city center. Tallinn has a well-developed public transport system (buses, trams). You can reach the city center on tram number 2, which is within walking distance of the hotel. I took this tram into the city and returned by Uber. The hotel is situated on a busy street with little residential development around it; it's more of an industrial area. It's no wonder this hotel is popular with tour groups. During our stay, there was a large group from France. SERVICE/FACILITIES: The hotel itself appears well-maintained. The 3-star national rating is accurate. The reception was friendly and efficient, as they were prepared for our group's arrival. There is an elevator. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel, and the signal strength is sufficient. Of all four hotels on the tour, the breakfast selection here was the best in terms of both quality and quantity (but still at a 3-star level). The only downside was the small breakfast room, which became quite crowded when another tour group arrived for breakfast at the same time. This meant waiting a long time at the single coffee machine. ROOMS: Unlike the other three hotels on the tour, this one had laminate flooring instead of carpet. The rooms are simply and functionally furnished. I had a double room with two single beds for single occupancy. The condition was okay, not run-down. The same goes for the bathroom, which was rather small. Both were generally clean. Bed linen and towels were adequate for a 3-star hotel. The bed was sufficiently comfortable. The water heated up quickly in the shower, but the fixtures were very basic (made of lightweight plastic). Unfortunately, there was no luggage rack or safe, and two or three additional, better-positioned electrical outlets would have been welcome. The room wasn't noisy. I slept with the window closed on the first floor and didn't hear any traffic noise. Fellow travelers who slept with the window open complained about the street noise. Two things about the bathroom stood out to me personally: the underfloor heating and the high-quality, pleasantly scented toiletries (hand soap, shower gel). CONCLUSION: A basic hotel, no luxury, and correspondingly inexpensive. More suitable for travelers passing through. Hence, most guests are tour groups who typically only stay one night. During my stay, there was another large tour group (from France). Anyone planning a city break to Tallinn should definitely consider staying closer to the city center.
