Stayed 3 days, could have stayed a month. Loved our visit to this little hotel. Very clean and nice staff. Nice breakfast options, not just a buffet. 5 min walk to beach or town. Highly recommend. Small building with a few rooms or individual cottage type buildings nestled in a little corner of town.

Tranquility, just moments away from all the action. Quick walk to town. Nice comfortable space to enjoy. A lush oasis with tropical vibes with mature shade trees and pretty landscaping. Great pool with swim up bar. Awesome breakfast with choice for vegetarians. The bungalow set up was great for our family of 3 and the kitchen with fridge and microwave came in super handy. The air conditioning was fantastic and really appreciated since it was extremely hot the week we were there. Chilled flavoured water at the front desk was a nice touch. We highly recommend the massage with Stephanie.

Good value hotel, clean, friendly staff. Location: close to the beach and restaurants, in an alley from the main street. Street on the way to the hotel is dusty and smelly, but property is clean and well maintained.

This hotel is picture fancy. The bungalow looks nice from outside. The inside is darker and a bit old. There is a kitchenette, we didn’t use it. Upstairs space is quite small and extremely hot even with air conditioner. Downstairs bathroom has an outdated shower head which fell off the wall several times while taking shower. The good art is the staff. They are very friendly and respond to our requests quickly. The receptionists speak good English, the housekeepers and breakfast serving people don’t.

This hotel was a little oasis. We were worried that Tamarindo was doing to be too busy and touristy but this hotel was located at the quiet end of the beach, which was only a short walk away. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance. We traveled as a family and ate most nights at a little group of food trucks, which weren't as expensive as the beach restaurants. The pool was lovely to cool down in after spending the mornings at the beach. We were in a standard room on the bottom floor of the main building and couldn't hear our neighbours at all. In the day, there was some construction or maintenance going on, which was a bit loud but not too bad. In the evening the room was totally quiet. No traffic noise at all because the hotel is at the end of a little dead-end cul-de-sac. The room we were in didn't have blackout curtains, which allowed beautiful light. However, I recommend traveling with an eye mask because it gets light early. The air conditioner worked well, plus there was a fan, fridge, microwave and tv in the room. The hotel's front staff were very friendly. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

This charming small (about 10 rooms) hotel was fabulous. It is located at the edge of downtown up about two blocks along a dirt road and about four blocks from the beach. Even that short distance means it is quiet at night - we were woken only by the occasionally howler monkey. There was a food court and all the restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We stayed in room #10, which was an end unit in the two-story building that houses the hotel room style accommodations. The rest are single bungalows with high coned attics. We had a outdoor patio with two chairs and a hammock. There is AC which worked well. We had a bar fridge with freezer (no ice tray) to keep our drinks cold and a microwave. The king-size bed was very comfortable (the pillows were so big we asked for flatter ones, which they brought with housekeeping the same day) with nightstands and bedside lamps and there was a table with one chair and a single bed which we used as a luggage rack. The bathroom was large with a huge tiled shower but the water pressure was laughable. Towels were large and fluffy. The clothing storage was a unit in the bathroom with hangers on one side and open shelves on the other, and another set of open shelves by the sink. The pool is sparkling clean and refreshing. There is a non-working hot tub but i can't imagine wanting to be in hot water is this climate anyway. Breakfast was included and was great, lots of fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, unlimited tea and coffee, served poolside. You had a choice of a typical Tico breakfast or several more American-style choices. There is a cute gym/yoga/massage building and were offering 1 hour massages for $50. There a many little touches around the place, palapas with wooden furniture and bowls of seashells that feel luxurious yet homey. Security was very good with front desk having security cameras for the property and a guard on duty all night. This may just be our favorite stay in Cost Rica.

The bar was being updated for the upcoming season so we didn't get to enjoy it, however all else was great. Staff were always friendly and all issuess were adressed immediately. Beach was a 5 minute walk. The roads are dirt roads filled with potholes but that has nothing to do woth the property. Would def stay here again.

We loved Luna Llena hotel. It was a quiet oasis amongst the hustle & bustle of Tamarindo town. The hotel is right in town but manages to feel apart. Our room was clean and comfortable (large bathroom), a corner unit with outdoor hammock. We used the pool quite a bit. Breakfast was lovely. We do wish we might have upgraded to a "hut", where our son would have his own upper loft. But we were still happy & comfortable. Many thanks to staff, esp. Katerina (sp?), the day manager, and Kimberly who served our morning meal.
