My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Mar Rey for 3 nights at the end of our 8 night trip to Costa Rica and absolutely LOVED it!! The only complaint I have about this hotel is that I wish I would have been able to stay longer. It was our first time to Tamarindo, and this hotel was perfect for us. The best part of this hotel is the location... literally a 5 minute walk from anything you could want to do and RIGHT across the street from the beach. We got a deluxe king room which had a/c, pull out futon, a large deck overlooking the pool, TV, microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. The pool and grilling area were awesome! The staff were super helpful and friendly - they even helped organize transportation to the Tamarindo airport for us. We would love to come back with family and friends to stay for longer!

This trip was for my honey moon, the staff was pleasant and helpful. The shuttle service was easy and efficient and the trip to town was less then 5 mins away. The beach club that was attached to the hotel is 6 mins away and prime location in the beach. All the rooms have a beautiful view and would definitely book again even if it is not right in the beach as everything is within walking distance and a taxi ride away (we paid 5$ from center of town to our hotel) the rooms were clean and the ac unit kept the room nice and cool which is refreshing coming in from the humid outdoors. Definitely book again … pura vida
