The room is clean but plain: white textiles and light wood might give off a clinical vibe. So many power outlets, I counted eight and then two more in the bathroom! Service is lovely though, nice receptionists and I overheard how the receptionist asked a couple their breakfast wishes for the next morning, since they were to be the only customers! Basic breakfast, but served its purpose. Glutenfree options were well available when requested. The hotel room itself is quiet, but not fully dark: dim lights behind the ceiling panels stayed on the whole night above the door. They didn't bother my sleep though, perhaps prevented claustrophobic feels since there wasn't a window :)

The Lapland Hotel is a relatively stylish Nordic hotel. A lot of work has been done on the details. The hotel's restaurant is very nice and the waiters are enthusiastic and professional. If in town for business, especially at Tampere Talo, this hotel is the perfect choice as the two buildings are connected with a covered corridor. The rooms however are rather small and the beds a bit too high although definitely comfortable. The coffee machine in the room is definitely a huge plus and if the fridge functioned as a mini bar, that would raise the quality even higher. The on-site restaurant has a small menu but the food is very delicious and they also offer a great bar selection.

The is located beside the lake and the views from quite many rooms are beautiful. The hotel has been rebuilt a few years ago, and the rooms are ok. There are nice saunas and a small inside swimming pool. Breakfast is included in the price and is good. It's about two kilometers walk from the hotel to the city center of Tampere.

There is a Scandic on each side of the train station, which is easy to go wrong. The department store Stock*** is on the side of the City, and the other side is the Station. The breakfast is the same every day. You can consider bringing some instant noodles.

Scandic Hämeenpuisto was ok for a one night stay in Tampere. It is located little on the side, but the centre on reachable by foot. The hotel was fully booked, so check in took long time, but otherwise everything was taken care fine. The hotel is very peaceful during the night and the rooms were clean. I would change the soaps to Finnish brands though, as we are in Finland. The breakfast was excellent, and I truly can recommend that. It would be a good idea to market a weekend stay (Fri-Sun) at the hotel for affordable price; it would bring more people on the average weekends to the hotels. Usually the stay in the hotel is quite short considering the price of a room, which feels too high for one night (150€).

We had planned a one night staycation with my son, his long time wish. We got a room from the upper floor and the view was beatiful. It was easter and the hotel was packed. We managed to get a table from the restaurant not until 8 pm. We decided to eat quick to get back to the room to see the sunset. But the restaurant staff was short and we sat there 1,5 hrs and missed the best part of the sunset. A huge disappointment! My advice is: if you want to see the sunset (which must be breath taking), don’t use the downstairs restaurant any later than 7 pm. Beds are comfy and everything is clean and fairly new. City center is right there next to hotel so easy access to restaurants and museum.
