A nice ryokan with beautiful private baths. There's a public onsen and a delicious, inexpensive cafe nearby.
The staff is polite, and some even speak English. You can reserve a seat on the free shuttle to and from the village center at the reception desk. There are also several bus stops nearby.
I have large tattoos, but they allowed me to use both the public and private onsen.

From the Kumano Kodo, walk to Hatshinmon Prince and take a bus to the hotel. The ride takes about 40 minutes. Remember to check the bus timetable before hiking. The last bus down the mountain is at 4:30. The room size is very good, and the price is not expensive for a room with two meals. There is a single bathing pool, but the water temperature is not very hot. The location of the hotel is quite remote. Remember to book dinner and breakfast. There is no place to eat around except the large bathing area. You can book a free bus to Hongu Taisha or Fashinmon Prince on the next day.

We reached the hotel on foot from Hongu Taisha Shrine via Ohitsuchi, passing by Yumine Hot Spring Street. It takes about half an hour to walk from the hot spring street. I’m not sure how to get there by car. The hotel environment is very good. It’s a completely Japanese-style resort hotel. It’s quiet and far away. The crowd, the service is enthusiastic, and the hygiene is up to standard. (Note that there are no showers in the rooms, you have to go to the large bathroom.) The hot springs are very big and unique. The dinner is also good. I have a good rest. There is a shuttle bus to the palace when I leave. ( You may also be able to make an appointment) Watase Onsen is worth experiencing!

The hotel is not luxurious, because it is in a hot spring town, so both the quality and service are still very good. The feature of the hotel is the hot spring ♨, the first experience in Japan, I like it.
The breakfast is also rich and the ingredients are very fresh. The waiter helped me as much as possible and gave me a lot of information about hiking, transportation and other journeys.

The room is not big, but it has everything and is very convenient. The guy at the front desk was very nice. He took the initiative to ask me about my itinerary and told me how to take the bus. After all, there are only a few buses a day in this mountain. It would be very troublesome if I missed it. There is a single-person bathing pool, but there was no one there when I went there, hahaha. So cool. The only drawback is that the location is too remote. It took two hours by bus to arrive, in an inaccessible valley. It’s a good place for people who like hiking and like being off the beaten track.
My husband & I enjoyed staying here with its 70s vibe. Very calm & peaceful. Lovely private onsens with no wait. Koyama-san at reception was exceptional! The Kaiseki dinner was a new experience for us and the wait staff were very helpful!
