Silver Fern Taupo Backpackers

The bed was good, and the room was spacious with a balcony and chairs to enjoy the view and or sunset and sunrise if you choose. There were no cable channels as advertised but there was a heat pump and a kitchenette with a sink but not for cooking. Bathroom amenities were provided including towels and a hairdryer. A room safe was provide for your valuables and an extra blanket if you got cold. There are stairs up to your room and car parking near by the reception staff are friendly and reception is supposed to be open from 8 am however as we departed at 8.10 am it still was not open but there was a key drop. The Lodge itself is within walking distance to both the lake and the town center. The room itself was value for money but the rate goes up around Christmas time, so it pays to book ahead. A sofa bed was an added extra, so we had somewhere to sit. We would stay here again when visiting Taupo as we have stayed in other places in Taupo but find this to be a good choice. We choose to pay for the executive room which was only $106 with the credit card percentage charge.
